I vote for a bar also. Who's going to have the energy to cook after a good days riding?! Certainly not me.

Okey dokey! It sounds, at least so far, that the overwhelming idea is to go to the pub. I'll be going out to Nelson in the next couple of weeks and I'll arrange a deal at one of the pubs - perhaps, one for each night and keep everyone posted.

LOL  I cook a mean venison steak, just not into hunting them any more.

So, if we hit anything along the way, qe should strap it onto our seat and bring it over to Nelson??!? I will pack extra bungee cords...

I think MaxSwell is the one with past experience to help provide the main ingredient.  :wheel::3::3:  Order up !!!

Me and Bizbat are booked at Adventure, I'm starting to get excited about the trip, we'll have to see how our routes to Nelson all jive and hook up somewhere.

Pub meet works for me too.

I'll take care of the deer hunting - sans license as usual. NOT!

BTW:  I'm not interested in eating them either.

Just remember: The only good deer is a dead-in-the-forest deer.

I've mapped my journey and it's ~1500 miles. My plan is to take US 12 and I90 to Coeur d'Alene to Newport, WA then WA 20 west, WA 31 and BC 6 north to Nelson. I figure I can do it at an old man's pace in about five days, give or take a week. :-)  I'll plan on leaving 7/15 and may get there early in order to have time to dress the deer for the Barbie Q. And check out Canada's IPAs. Can't wait to see all you PNWers.

Someone should have called Dutchy for a postmortem check of the deer's oil.

Yes Deer!

The funniest thing is this was the beginning of Bow season in Oregon.  Some bow hunters came by to lend us a hand in the bike recovery.  They found the deer, and tagged it.  I always thought eating road kill was just a well used joke. Well, I was sure wrong that way.  But if it were not for them, we would never have gotten that bike out of the deep deep ditch it went into much like films of those Calvary racing their horses down deep river banks in those old black and white dusters.  My last signature stamp has now disclosed meanings

Aye, that one is dead!

Had some BBQ'd venison burgers before, quite tasty!

I'd love to hear the Whole Story, if it's not too painful to recall.

A topic for discussion over beers at the pub Saturday night...or maybe not.  The proprietor of that event can tell the tell.

Staying in the US is a good idear.

Faster Interstates and Cheaper Gas, specially in Montana, where even the smaller roads are posted 70MPH,,.. and the locals just consider that a Suggestion!

Be Careful climbing the Switchbacks outa (northbound) Metaline Falls.

The "pavement" is White,,.. cause there is a Cement Plant there thats been producing forever, and the surface is impregnated with cement dust.

Its been polished smooth like a Concrete Parkade Garage Floor.

I had a Front Tire slide on it going down, and the Rear slide out going up.

But now that ya knows what its about, have some fun with it,,..

I very strongly second this, myself and my buddy both went down on that same bend, heading down the hill. Those corners are super smooth and slippery.

I am thinking of leaving my place in Coeur d'Alene on Thursday morning so as to ride.... somewhere....... and have fun riding Thursday the 21st and then Friday up to Nelson....  Maybe up in NE Washington?? Maybe up by Yaak Montana and Koocanusa??

If anybody is coming this way and the timing works let me know and maybe we get in a day or so of riding on the way up.. I could be talked into camping too....

Let me know if this might work...
