Member Contributer Skids Posted July 2, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 2, 2015 Some of you may recall the Dam end can I fitted at the beginning of May this year. Since then, it's done a little under 2000 miles on tarmac roads (not gravel etc). This morning, whilst washing my bike, I noticed 2 small chips. Thinking they may be bug debris, I ran my finger nail over them and even more of the coating came away. I have e-mailed Dam, with the photos below attached and await their answer. crakerjac
I noticed that my 'burned logo' that says DAM exhaust has faded quite a bit. I'm a little disappointed, but since I bought the exhaust 2nd hand, there isn't much I can do. Hope they get it all sorted out.
Member Contributer Skids Posted July 3, 2015 Author Member Contributer Share Posted July 3, 2015 As you said marriedman, "customer service like it should be" Hi Gareth, I don’t have any reply of the painting company. What do you like me to do: Do you want to solve it now Or do you maybe want to wait after the bike season when the weather go’s down( or winter time). Anyway to solve it I need to collect the exhaust. This all in guaranty, no problem. We have already reserved a new black body for you. Member Contributer Marsman99 Posted July 3, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 3, 2015 Skids, curious if you think it's a defective paint issue, or an issue of paint in a vulnerable area? The black DAM and de-cat are next on my list this summer, so this has caused me pause.

The black DAM and de-cat are next on my list this summer, so this has caused me pause. Sorry m8, only just seen this....you posted just as I went on holiday! It is in a vulnerable area; the bend just before the join to the downpipes, though the chip itself is on the top of the pipe, not the bottom. Worse was the small mark I saw next to it and when I ran my fingernail over it, the paint came away (you can see it in the photo...the streaks are the marks left by my fingernail). David is away on holiday but will be arranging collection of mine when he returns. I'll keep a very close eye on the replacement and post if there are any issues. Top customer service. Member Contributer Marsman99 Posted July 22, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted July 22, 2015 No worries. Hope it was just a one time paint issue. I'm actually more interested in the low-down on your NZ holiday!

Member Contributer Skids Posted October 19, 2015 Author Member Contributer Share Posted October 19, 2015 Just thought I'd close the loop on this one. David from DAM was very helpful and offered me to keep hold of the defective end can until the winter season then do the swap but I decided I'd rather do it sooner. The can was collected and in less than a week, a replacement was delivered and is now fitted. Excellent CS. So if anyone else is considering a DAM exhaust, I can heartily recommend them. vfar
Just jumping in on this thread - I noticed on the Dam site it specifically says that their slip-on can't be used if a center stand is installed. Has anyone created a workaround for this? I really like the look and sound of the pipe but have the center stand installed already.

The Werkes pipe is what I was thinking about. Falling down the slip-on rabbit hole...
