Yeah 48k in her now.

To make sure the other one does not cry foul, I took her for a ride and dinner just now :-)

She's a dirty puma she is......

Yesterday did a 200km trip on narrow dike roads on redslut. Liked that route so much I pretty much did the same route on puma.

Taking advantage of the clocks going back 1 hour, it was a glorious, yet misty startIMAG2969-768x1358.jpgIMAG2967_BURST001-800x452.jpgIMAG2975-768x1358.jpgIMAG2977-800x452.jpgIMAG2984-768x1358.jpgIMAG2985-768x1358.jpgIMAG2993.jpgIMAG2980-1600x249.jpgIMAG2987-1600x275.jpg

Further up the road was covered in yellow leaves, the view in my mirror a cloud of yellow. Zen moment..

Good thing you did keep the sunny side up!

Mud on road is not nice, and a reason I dont ride certan roads during spring and fall as farmers bring mud on the roads whit their tracktors.

And the pics bring happy memory form early May this year :smile2:

Does that middle bike have a V-4? Seat looks a little uncomfortable but I bet you can get some serious lean angle on it. :goofy:

Nice. :fing02:

Yeah 48k in her now.

So how are the BT45´s lasting by the way?

The rear is still looking very good indeed, with measure thread depth next.

Front is a different matter, it wears much quicker,

Apart from the wear in the centre, stroking it counter roatation-wise I feel the edges in the pattern "stick up".

She rides ok (was out yesterday for a couple of hours of twisty dikes) but I reckon the 30yr old suspension has something to do with the edges wearing in that manner.

Well that front tire wear is called cuping, and very common on the the BT45 front. Your shoot head bearing might have made it worse, but your front suspension I think not, well if whit to thick oil in there it might.

You still have a selection of a Metzeler Lasertec or a Pirelli Sport Demon if you like to test some other rubber up front, Both OK, have tested them.

I recall I did use 2 front tires before a rear on my old RC24 also....

As for Meguiars, the Dutch importer is having a laugh (at our expense.....)

Meguiars - Smooth Surface Clay Kit

Quik Detailer 473ml
2 x 80 gram Claybar
Supreme Shine Microfiberdoek

Euro 40 ex shipping make that $45

The same in the US? $18......

Import tax + some money to the hands betwen + shipping costs is what we pay extra for, same whit stuff sold in mid Europe compare to Scandinavia.

A sad but reality thing

With puma in her road tax wintersleep, all I could do was put the battery in, and let her run and heat up. Fired up on 1st touch!

Sticking her ass out.... What a hussy!!! :-)IMAG3257-768x1358.jpg

Things to do in spring before riding season start again for her:

  • DLRL's
  • some extra decals
  • Modify front end with RT emulator+springs
  • Larger aux fuse box
  • 12V outlet
  • new front tire

We will getting freezing temps soon.

Plenty time to tinker...

Like adding leds to the above topcase (under the new reds) and hook them to the brakelight switch..IMAG3261.jpg

Nice stories, Leon. I'd almost forgotten I used to have a VF500 (1985). My mufflers rusted out too, so I had some custom stainless steel ones made; the only stipulation I had was "to make them a little louder". They sounded great - loud enough to emphasise it was a V4, without being obnoxious or attracting the wrong sort of attention. My VF had problems with the inside of the tank rusting; even though I cleaned and treated it (with 'Kreem", IIRC), it had one annoying pinhol leak that never went away. Should have had it brazed, I guess.

The decals for both my girls came in today :-)

July 1986 the year my VF500F was built also the month/year I started with a certain company I am with still today (after 2 mergers and a split...).

Undecided on which color scheme would look best I simply made "3 generations"....

The nothing else matters will look good under the sidepanel VFR logo (methink) with the sane insanity apt for the VF... :goofy:IMAG3265-800x452_1.jpg

Procrastination not my middle name.....

Carefully cut out a 30 cm strip from the paper between the case and the red lenses and adhered the (3M taped) ledstrips to the case

P1139930_zpszjwaw82g.jpg

P1139940_zpsu2olpecs.jpg

P1139936_zpsfhefmkmu.jpg

I've ordered some waterproof male/female plugs to be able to connect to the brake light wiring.

redslut is in deep storage for a few more months so.......... to be continued!

Very cool Dutchy!

I've thought about doing something similar and you made it look so easy I guess I have no excuse...

Cheers Rush!

I stil need to figure out to affix the wires to the rear of the case and then down towards the tail section.

I won't be taking the case of each time I stop so am thinking of a semi-permanent method.

Givi sell -for their own line of cases- a LED system that contains a flug one fits to the bottom of the case and the base plate so it "clicks" into place.
