Tried to keep her in 3rd gear as much as possible as to focus on the turns, rather than shifting

Experienced intermittent starter engine issues (Y/N/maybe....) , despite new battery and R/R.

Aye, this is old skool 2.0

So to rule this one out, fitted redslut's relay:goofy:

Time will tell...   (25C tomorrow....:tour:)

Could also be the starter motor bushes need replacing. Easy job and you can get kits on Ebay. You can test for this by connecting the thick cable straight to a battery and see if it cranks.

Need a bit more input..... :goofy:

Which thick cables (the ones affixed to the relay) and what should I (or not) expect to happen/hear differently?

The thick cable that goes under the right side of the engine to the starter motor. Alternatively take off the fairing, peel back the boot where the aforementioned cable bolts to the starter and connect the positive from a spare battery. Be prepared for sparks and make sure bike is in neutral or on centre stand.

If the starter motor doesn't immediately turn then the bushes probably need to changed. If  this happens disconnect quickly because without a back emf the windings will pull a huge current and fry the motor. But it will be fun either way.

Due to the unusual warm spring, I pretty much missed the flowerfileds this year. The value for the growers is in the bulb, not the flowers. Hence they "kop" them.

Pretty much, but not completely... :goofy:

Some 25 years ago I did fly A LOT on company business (like 3 times a month) and when flying with KLM in business class, they would "serve"your drink in a nice wee bottle

https://www.klm-huisjes.nl/history/

Today was an OK day for riding (a bit of rain but I am no Spring Ride Pussy!!! :goofy:) so I looked up WHERE my 3 houses were located.

Here's Amsterdam

Got talking with a HONDA couple from the US (Rapid City) as he admired my Interceptor 500. He regretted selling his '85..

Here's Gouda

And as luck would have it, the last one was in Utrecht.

Bit trickly as it is in a pedestrian only shopping street/part of town

I bet y'all failed this one

Next to a local beer brewery:

And bonus picture!

We have a long history of modernising our capabilities to keep our feet dry (half of our country below sea level and effectively one big river delta).

Here a bit of history from 1884 when steam-powered pumps were used.

You might want to check your F2 fairing when it's off the bike. See the photos in the link. I noticed my right hand side wind deflector, the one that channels the air into the rad was wobbling. The plastic has started to crack around the fasteners. Only one side affected so you might be OK. I will reinforce with something.

Cheers!

Great bikes think alike; the rhs reflector on mine wobbles a bit as well.

A bit precarious I'd say. A bit "bird on a wire" even...

v2.jpg.1b6e1b9109a86ebcdfcc53c824df5c84.jpg

Today was a very special, albeit sad day.

Fred, a very active member in the Dutch VFR Club Nederland had passed away following a mc accident before Easter. He never wake up from the coma.

A seasoned, methiculous, ever friendly 66yr old rider is gone.  It was the family's wish to give him a fitting farewell from the hobby he'd enjoyed so passionately.

So some 170 bikes lined the steet, engines idling, helmets by the front wheel. As the herse passed each bike, full throtle was given and engine subesquently shut down.  Thus a wave of the sound he loved accompanied him on his last journey.

As quoted during the service:

"life after death is uncertain,

life before death IS certain,

so he lived life as much as he could..."

Ride In Peace Fred
