Member Contributer YoshiHNS Posted April 14, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted April 14, 2021 Keep it stock? I thought the idea was to fix and sell? I think you've fallen in love again... To be young again...
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted April 14, 2021 Author Member Contributer Share Posted April 14, 2021 No, the plan was to recommission and sell. In earlier post you can see what was done and replaced. When it came to selling, nothing but BS. "Nobody wants a fully faired bike anymore. I do you a favour by offering 1k..." Having secured employment again, I thought "wtf I give the bike to my brother".... the smile on his face was worth it... I just took her out for a couple of days. Parcel due from abroad any day now....

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted April 23, 2021 Author Member Contributer Share Posted April 23, 2021 The high-mount muffler meant loosing the passenger peg on the RHS. Thus equilibrium was distorted in the Universe. And we cannae have that now can we?!

Member Contributer Wald Posted April 25, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted April 25, 2021 Hey Dutchy, The VFR look sharp. What does the BOS exhaust sound like? I have a V&H high mounted one but based on the sound of my friends Ducati 750SS with a BOS system, the BOS should sound better than the V&H. BTW, mine is high mount with passenger foot pegs on (came this way to me) PS: I hope the Gilera is red!
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted April 25, 2021 Author Member Contributer Share Posted April 25, 2021 Well, the BOS is EU-approved and has a db-killer. Sound a bit deeper that the 6.1kg OEM boat anchor.... Sound-wise though, it looses big time to the twin BOS exhausts on my RC51 Both my Gilera 150's are red... The 150 Sport in the correct factory red The 'bastadino'Turismo has the tank of the 175 model. The jury is still out on it being period correct or not. I do not care really... I had decals made to comemmorate the 110th anniversary 1909 - 2019. (and hide some damage to the paint..) Purists balk... added a decal to the top of the tank for good measure...
Member Contributer Wald Posted April 26, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted April 26, 2021 Thanks Dutchy. Who cares if period correct, it is a awesome bike! I kind of like to looks of the VFR without the passenger pegs, I think I will remove mine.

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted April 26, 2021 Author Member Contributer Share Posted April 26, 2021 For the LHS pegholder, I used a bit tired looking one and chopped the lower bit off. As to keep tge grabrail and seat latch lock.
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted April 26, 2021 Author Member Contributer Share Posted April 26, 2021 Fitted the remaining auxilirary parts like steering, fender, chain, seat, oil.. Member Contributer Wald Posted April 26, 2021 Member Contributer Share Posted April 26, 2021 This is one "cool" machine. I love the ignition key (my uncles used to have old Jawa's with this type of key in the headlight) As for pegs, yes, you a right, in order to keep the grab rail, I will have to do the same thing. I will have to get a used pair on ebay and modify it. Also, my muffler is mounted to the peg on the right site (I will need to talk to my welder to perhaps find a different solution. Now, it becomes a project!
