Simply Wow! What a fabulous restoration of what seem to me to be an extremely obscure motorcycle. I'll bet you'll never see one of these comming at you on any random ride.

Congrats.

What's it like to ride?

I'm exercising my 5th Amendment Right.

Not tagged, I am not allowed to ride it atm.

That youtube ride btw is FAKE NEWS (taking a leaf from Donald)  🙂

Theoretically :goofy:, the suspension actually works (friction damping) but  drum brakes are frighteningly inadequate.....  I will service them next to see if new brake shoes are called for. Or maybe I am spoiled by the NISSINS in my SP2

New Interceptor motorbike pickup today!!

No not mine, the prior owner (Albert) of my Gilera bought a new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. And asked if I could pick him up from his home and drive him to the dealer 1+ hour away.

Sure, no problem. A friend of his met up there for the ride home.  His friend 72yrs old, riding a Multistrada.... :fing02:

Albert is 82.....

Selamat jalang!!!

Great shot on the bridge. Good use of the lockdown 👍

I consider bike riding to be essential & thus my riding is in compliance with the UK gov advice.

Plus I’ve had the virus, so consider myself immune for a bit.

Fresh rubbah!!!

Amazing you can find new bits from the Gilera when we have to scrounge the world's junkyards for older VFR parts.

Before committing to repaired the broken clutch tab, I want to hook the engine up to battery & coil to see if this engine will run

Next job, brakes. Found them woefully inadequate, so took them out and apart

Brought the drums to a specialist that will do a check on "inner roundness" and put new, softer, "race" lining on.  I gladly trade longlevity for performance here.

The Italian registratiom is changed for a Dutch one. Had to do the (import)tax registration as well, even though it will be zero..  rules are rules eh?

Next week they'll send me the card and number; I can then have a steel plate stamped.
