While at the Milano bike fair last month, I did spot a used original backlight/licence plate holder.  But they wanted Eur90!! (w/o light assembly...) for it......  "it is my last one.."    Well, they still have that part I reckon....   🙂

So this bracket will do me just fine (from a MASH TT400 https://www.mashmotor.de/mash-400cc/400cc-tt40-cafe-racer/ )

Knipsel.thumb.JPG.b5fcebc923d25c2fd791f431cfe2404c.JPG

(can shorter the vertical bit significantly since I donot require to have a red reflector as the bike is pre-1972)

Test fitting for now

During our government's "intelligent lock-down", going out alone, avoiding others is deemed ok.

Even the 99% probabilty of rain/hail is acceptable

@Gebruiker will be proud of me?

Sure, I can buy a (longer) link pipe that doubles as db killer. To avoid any crap at tech inspection.  There are no noise limits as the bike is pre 1972. But better be safe...

PSX_20200403_151914.thumb.jpg.d92c2a3f79faf7093d6ff1411dee8ada.jpg

But I already own a link pipe....

Sooooooo.....

And while I am at it....

The chain rubs the fender; an OEM one has a factory dent.

My fender is not OEM....

IMG-20200403-WA0017.thumb.jpeg.c9c20dc49b51e9c804ac49813b292a3e.jpeg

Gave it a few choice bangs and a coat of paint

Plenty clearance now

IMG-20200403-WA0042.thumb.jpeg.61ca632f9f6dacd5ca399bd70f5adc31.jpeg

Fitted the backlight and plate bracket

1325115746_IMG-20200405-WA00482.thumb.jpeg.2b06f239ef772db78cc8810eb7e509ff.jpeg

Painted (part) of the tail

PSX_20200405_180213.thumb.jpg.e8a343579e98c0e77f40afbb794ed006.jpg

The (old VF400) side panels are a bit rough so will wrap them

Painted wrap in as close as possible w/o forking out for factory paint

The red tape near the rank not right, needs brighter red.

So using yellow wrap and spraying red paint

She turned 80,000km today; looking forrward to the 50,000 miles mark :goofy:

With our "intelligent lockdown"in place, getting outside is deemed ok, as long as you observe a few basic rules on keeping distance.  That is if you donot have any COVID symptoms; then staying isolated inside is the instruction.

Additionally I pump petrol at unmanned stations.

Last weekend saw the first really nice weather, but I opted to stay at home. For long and behold, every Tom the bicyclist, Dick the walker and Harry the biker were out and about. Leading to overcrowding at touristy spots....  So the solution for next weekend local authoutities come up with is banning motorcyclists.....  🤢 as expected really.....

But today, a quiet day so no risk of me bumping into crowds at the flower fields...

Thank you my little puma/cougar for the miles!

The homemade rearsets caused the rear brake bar to rub/bend...

And it was clarty to boot
