Member Contributer Dutchy Posted August 3, 2019 Author Member Contributer Share Posted August 3, 2019 OEM indicator holders were destroyed so I had to get McGyver. OEM blinkers sag like granny tits, so use these...
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted August 5, 2019 Author Member Contributer Share Posted August 5, 2019 VF400's indicator no worky properly, so splashed few euros on her. About ready to reactivate the tag and start paying road tax and insurance. Took the VF for a spin to pick up the relay

I have three bikes but wish I had two, and I have two sheds and a garage. Moving them around is a PITA. I am probably going to mothball my VF500 and hope values skyrocket in the next 5 years (fat chance).
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted August 6, 2019 Author Member Contributer Share Posted August 6, 2019 The VF400F will find another owner this year methink... It came on my path unexpectedly. What I really want is a RC30/45 or NC30/35......

Member Contributer Mohawk Posted August 13, 2019 Member Contributer Share Posted August 13, 2019 Don’t use sharp tools in the calliper. Brass Wire wheel in a Dremel &/or a piece of scotch bright pad worked round with an Allen key of the right size with no sharp edges ! I have the same job to do on one of my bikes, might start tomorrow.

Well, the guys as the bike shop ran them past a buffing wheel and declared them "OK". I will pull the ones from my spare caliper too and pick "the bestest 2". They also advised me to use a picking tool (carefully) to make sure I get the corrosion out from the edges. I can use them picks later to play dentist methink They also advised to put the caliper in an ultrasonic bath. Which I donot own so I'll skip that Rebuilding calipers is a first for me, so I'm enjoying popping my cherry here as much as possible. Member Contributer Dutchy Posted August 17, 2019 Author Member Contributer Share Posted August 17, 2019 Light drizzle, but any ride is better than no ride All the lights work Fitted the Japan-spec cockpit, hence the tacho going to max 180KM/H and the dail number turning from white to red at 80. Which is the maximum speed in Japan. This dash has an extra light that turns BRIGHT red when the tacho goes over 90.... Got her up to 170KMH on the motorway and left it at that for now (drizzle)

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted August 21, 2019 Author Member Contributer Share Posted August 21, 2019 Lucky purple heather!!!! Due to the warm weather and unexpected heavy rains, the heather decided to come out to bloom en masse. So I set out for another spin (some 200kms) on the 37 yr old.... Dutchy loves birds, bees and flowers..... Next thing I swear I can hear Billy Joel in my head with Goodnight Saigon?? Huh??? Ah!!! My tax dollars @play!!! And hot damn, them jets fly really low!!!! Filled up at what used to be Gadaffi's money maker.... (note that since this place is in the centre of our bible belt, this unmanned petrol station is CLOSED on sundays....) Lastly, no Dutchy report w/o a windmill eh?
