Motorcycle shop nearby had "Benelli demo days" and with me never turning down a free ride.....

Benelli, founded in 1911 and started building mc's in 1921.

These days though, it is probably best called Chinelli , as the bikes are 100% Chinese. That is, if your name is Trump and/or you like staring at your belly button.

For truth be told, it is a well designed and build motorcycle. Factor in the price and you're on a winner if you donot expect eye popping perfomance from the wee twin.

I got her up to a ton and that was it :goofy:.  The engine is a peach, picking up smootlhlt from low revs, even if you are too high a gear.  Suspension, handling braking al "A" OK!

This TRK was brandnew (27km on the clock) and I reckon the gearbox could do with a proper break in period 1st....  Shifting from 2 to 3 somethimes was not happening (irrespective of lever pull full in or not). Or it was just "my inexperience with riding a mc"?

The shop took note and would keep an eye/ear on it with future riders taking her out. Rear brake could do with a bit more bite (bike has ABS), again it would have been wiser for the shop owners to ride the bike themselves first for a few 100 clicks....

Rode with a group of former colleagues yesterday. Most have a Beemer, with a "Henri Ford" color scheme... :goofy:

During yesterday's run, I once more experienced starting problens. Whirring sound but no starty...

Hmmm, replaced the start relais earlier, so maybe the starter brushes are worn?

I am sure it's repairable but you might be better off just picking up a second hand one. They seem plentiful enough on Ebay.

Chances are I pick one up over the weekend.

Am amazed/impressed that it worked for so long despite being well past its "best before date"... :fing02:

Problem with brushed staters is they have nowhere for the brush wear residue/dust to go. So the brushes start to stick which increases arcing that increases wear. If you ever need to replace a set of brushes & they are NLA then just go to a car parts place & buy a set. They are all bigger than bike ones, then cut them to shape to fit your starter motor ! Give it a full clean & degrease & all good to go like new again.

Bought a MACNA cooling vest years and years ago, use a lot in summer since it really "works".

Friend asked to borrow it as he was gonna rent a bike in Dubai. Ge somehow managed to cause it to leak, maybe plain wear and tear...

So I picked up a new one today.

Next week we get 30C+, a good testing opportunity for this 2.0 version.

Well Doug, I did an "Arizona test" for you today..... :goofy:  34C+

This "evo" works just as well as their 1st version.

I ride in full leathers, pants have a little perforated area so I wear longjohns underneath. My jacket has vents on the lower arms and the front area along the zip can be removed, leaving a sturdy mesh fabric.

I never felt the heat getting to me. When stopping and placing my inside the vest it feels "cool". It needs airflow to function.

Macna since released a V3 "hybrid" .... A step back imho, you either soak it (versus V1 and V2 having the water inside) and put it on wet. Like a Hyperkewl Or add "cool packs" you activate by placing them in a fridge.
