Member Contributer Dutchy Posted February 26, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 26, 2017 Putting on paint stripper and leaving it overnight, I managed to get those extra crispy baked on decal remnant off. Using a scotchbrite pad for good measure.

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted February 28, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 28, 2017 Aye, this one gives a bit more "presence".... ;-) 0ne more redslut part found its way, the SDC voltmeter! I measured the altenator and RR earlier to be ok, this will keep an eye on thing. If only these blustery showers would stop.... Verified that both fans come on at 103 celcuis ok. Looking forward to a pair of fins that will direct extra airflow over the rads. Used Autosol to clean up the mufflers a bit more; the brown hue and the welds
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted March 1, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted March 1, 2017 Money in the bank is so overrated...... 100 on GPS shows 110 on the dash, 120 displayes 130. The odo only shows miles, this thing will cure that too. 5, expandeable to 9 litre volume.
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted March 1, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted March 1, 2017 Shine on you crazy diamond!!! A bit nippy today, but nothing a pair of 12V heated glove liners and a pair of longjohns can't handle...

I was flat out (prob 90-95mph?) and a black Mercedes went by me so fast it rocked my car. Flew into The Netherlands, visited the coast and went to Floriade. Then down into Germany. Member Contributer Dutchy Posted March 2, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted March 2, 2017 More and more, large sections of Autobahns have a speed restriction, be it "polution" or "noise". There are still enough places where freedom runs free!

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted March 3, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted March 3, 2017 Those Lasers produce 103~105Dba (Douglasthecook would be proud). One has no damping wool left, the other has some left (and is louder...). Even with new wool, they will remain way to loud for my (and police) liking. The RC is allowed to make 94dba with +2 leeway... So a new set it being fitted as we speak...

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted March 3, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted March 3, 2017 Went with the other -non bankrupt..- Dutch exhaust manufacturer. BOS (had one on my redslut prior to the Akrapovic,) crappy sound on my camera (both .avi and mp4) out.mp4 out.AVI She now measures 95Dba, +1dba on the homologised 94 (@5k RPM) for the SP2, no problemo 95.mp4 95dba.AVI Did a quick dyno run to verify AF (no time left in the day to do a full blown session, but this is what I wanted...) 1st run.mp4 1st run.AVI low.mp4 Ignore the green/red... partial throttle readings. Blue she is not.... 124 ponies RW is good. They stock and sell Power Commanders, but there view is that I do not NEED one. Curve not perfect by far but if they were me, they'd leave it (too). All in all I was there a good 6 hours (including coffe and lunch breaks). A great father and son shop. Mile a well know and succesful racer in the Netherlands. Carl Forgerty got beaten and he reportedly said "WHO the HELL is this Pajic guy???" :-)

timmythecop
I NEED THOSE LAZERS. At least one person with the surname "Steffes" will be in the Netherlands this year !!!
TheDutchy
JMHO, the Laser set does have a better look then the BOS cannisters. However... These BOS cans look good... I would have changed the link pipes so the cannisters would follow the line of the of the rear cowl... They are just a bit steap to me currently... Crap... That Vid I once entered is showing on every entry... How do I ged rid of it ??

jeremyr62
My 86 VF500 is converted to 17 inch wheels. I will admit yours looks a lot better on the 16/18 inch wheels. With the 17 inch wheels you do get a better choice of rubber but on the whole, I think the OE wheels and tyres you can get are fine.
