TheDutchy
To me, it seems a bit unprofesional to leave those calipers dangling down on their brake hoses...
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted January 27, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted January 27, 2017 Maybe yes, opinions differ I guess. I would have tie-wrapped them, but then again I tie wrap everything.... Member Contributer Dutchy Posted January 29, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted January 29, 2017 I felt nuttin' because I wasnae feeling!! You got to fight.... for your right..... to paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaartyy!!! (tent) I'll be away during the week so I pitched it already; next Friday someone will come to do a proper clean, polish, wax job on her. so in case it rains, we can soldier on... The 190/55 is on, as is a 42T rear sprocket. The tire is taller of course and the 42T meant the rim moved forward as well. I now have very little distance to the lower cowl This is with the rear off the ground, so I anticipate a bit of dremelling....
Sweeper
You'll wear that tire down in no time!
TheDutchy
As long as it rubs the cowl..... Rubbing is racing..
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted February 3, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 3, 2017 Should wait for the sun to come out tomorrow really.... A fellow VFR owner's hobby is REALLY cleaning bikes so I set him to work... Wash, polish, wax, the works All sort of chems and clays were used "working 9 2 5...." 2 tiny marks bottom left where the paint is chipped away... Tank Bag? who knows..... Aye! that slider pin needs a wee rub... Aye, them bolts are a wee bit grotty...

Member Contributer Dutchy Posted February 5, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 5, 2017 176 days have past since that fateful day in August............ Man, it is GOOOOOOOOD to be back on a bike! And WHAT a bike it is.... (Yep, that is why they call it a shake-down run... the rear indicator bolt was not secure...) My familiar stomping ground.. Not exclusively mine though.. Hail to the Chief!!!

douglasthecook
Ok, so ride report, and comparison the the 4th Gen VFR please. How do they compare (ergonomics, power, ease to transition from left to right turns and back, throttle response, braking, acceleration)? I know it's kinda apples to oranges, but some of us can't ride, and need something!!!
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted February 5, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 5, 2017 A better solution; come over this spring and you get to ride her yourself....

TheDutchy
Yeah, me thinks, aside from the degreased fuel capacity, that light is gonna light up more frequent... environmental pollutant
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted February 19, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 19, 2017 With the PO "not sure" when the spark plugs were changed last, I get me some NGK's. Ordered a Canyon Dancer in the US so they price of them sparkers was very fair. The gap of the old plug is still ok (~1mm where 1.4mil means worn) so these will go in the "when I need one in a hurry" box... Then the rains started again so the one at the front will have to wait.... :-(
Member Contributer Dutchy Posted February 25, 2017 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 25, 2017 At last, a bit of "redslut" on the SP2!!! Also got rid of them pesky little clear lens front indicators and fitted a set of OEM's I picked up cheap! (still need a pair for the rear; but not rush since the PO chopped the OEM rerar inner cowl for an aftermarket undertail..) The headers are stainless, so I did a quick check if Autosol+scothpad would make an impression, since I had the Ohlins refurbished. that's just 2 minutes (too bloody cold outside still), so am hopeful I will get her shiney...
