No buy.

As it was a short drive I took his word on the state.

And didnot ask for close up pictures.

He had stated "nothing was grotty", but that proved...

I was looking for the front forks primarily they looked ok ish...

It's like sculpting.. Just (a fish and) chip away that isn't sculpture...

Any signs of incontinence ??

You had a nice ride... I do recognize the "Flevopolder" But I don't have a clue where that last windmill is located..

Good to hear the shakedown went OK..

Took the VTEC out this afternoon... It doesn't have the punch like the 750F... Seems a bit tame, however, it does go fast, but no... No excitement thrill..

You're right.. Nothing beats a carb version..

I know about MBD! Nice acquisitions, Dutchy. Late to see this thread, but looks like you have rescued some nice VFRs. Jealous of the fish & chips lunch, too.

That last one and the other old one are along de Vecht, before or after Nigtevencht, I forgot.

Very very narrow lanes with blind corners, grid and sand all over and a larger section the tarmac top layer grated off.... :-)

Ok, a few more piccies then :goofy:IMAG3562_1-1024x1811.jpgIMAG3582-1024x1811.jpgIMAG3579-1280x724.jpg

What can cause one side to flash more rapidly then the other?

Puma had this for some time now and it is beginning to annoy me that left flashes much faster versus the right side at a normal speed....

Indicator relay looks like this:

relaywinker_big38301MF5771-01_6c9a.jpg

What/how can I test it?

Standard indicators use a bi-metal resistence strip to contact heat & cool to repeat. If you lose a bulb, it should flash twice as fast as an indication that something is wrong. If both bulbs are good, then one will be of an incorect wattage causing them to blink either to fast or to slow !

Yep yep, or even additional resistance in the wiring can cause the blinker timing to be different. Your standard flashers are load dependent, meaning they blink a certain speed based on a given load, that way when a bulb goes out it flashes faster and you know. The lazy way is to swap out to a load independent flasher like they use for when they switch over to LED's, no more problem, though then you wouldn't know when a bulb is out by the speed of the blink...

Cheers! I will verify both the bulbs' wattage when the storm subsides...

Next question!

The BT45 upfront is nearing its wear indicator so looking for a replacement.

Size is 100-90/16, which limits choice of course.

Would a 110-90/16 fit/be a good alternative? Would it stay clear of the front fender? Dunlop Streetsmart comes in that dimensions.

What is the rim width ?

As a tinkerer you should consider a 17 inch conversion.

If you do it right it's completely reversible.

You have so much more rubber to choose from.

People are concerned about sink holes near their homes,

I am more on the money spent on Puma already....

- YSS rear shock

- RT emulators

- VDO gauges

:goofy:

But oh! the joy!!!

There was a brisk wind blowing today, but with a little caution, it was ok...

For tiren, the 110/90 is quit a bit bigger in OD to the 100/90, and will slow your steering. I would stay whit stock size. the BT45 you have as Metzeler Lasertec and Pirellis SportDemon are your choice if you not lean on a Duro or alike budget rubber, witch I think you will not. Haven ridden all 3 I think the most sporty is the Pirelli in both handling as grip, Lasertec has the look for the 80´s bikes and a solid owerall performer, the BT45 you know what is and its a solid performer as well.

Kiitos Keny!

The rear BT45 has plenty thread left, is from 2012 and the bike has been inside a garage since I bought it last year.

So I am leaning towards the 110-90-16 BT45 again as not to mix brands. Or have you mixed Pirelli fronts with BT at the back?

Are the Netherlands deserted then? Or are you very patient?

Today is a holiday and most Dutch went traditionally to the shopping mall looking for new furniture or have some fun in a amusement park, so roads are deserted on the middle of the day.

I have tried different brands, had a BT45 rear and a Lasertec front on my RG250 2 stroke, no problem, but a BT45 in 100/90-16 is a good chose. Better to feel safe. Whit a 16" front I used to wear out 2 fronts on one rear, that the RC24.

Puma came with some nasty Chinese indicators that were absolutely tiny.

Been on the lookout for some "right decade" ones and finally managed to grab a set at a reasonable price.

See what I mean?IMAG3685-800x452.jpg

The require the mounting bracket to have 2 holes (1 for the wires 1 for the bolt) the the front brackets on Puma are different... 1 has 2 holes, 1 only 1......

The joys of a 30 years old motorcycle eh?

It can be, the bit might be from a other market area or a cheap made (non oem) spare.

Just drill the hole you need and you can mount them. I would take off the bracket for the drilling to be on the safe side..........

The stock ones look good I think :fing02:
