Member Contributer AnikMankar Posted January 9, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted January 9, 2015 Installation of the converibar was not easy though it seemed straight forward. Noticed couple of things ... the length of the handlebars longer than stock. Cutting them to size and ensuring holes aligned needed to be perfect Have throttlemeister - the OD of this is larger than the ID of the handlebar. to get full height - needed longer clutch and front brake lines left side switch wire loom needed to be re-routed. MRA extender - the air was routing straight at me due to upright riding position cut the the bars to size machined down the OD of the Throttlemeister Positioned the Convertibar at the 6 notches high the Right master cylinder touches the handles to the angle of the handle had to be adjusted accordingly MRA extended using local acrylic managed to cut and create a new visor flap. Not perfect but does the work Results City riding : this seems very comfy, more upright, Highway riding : TEST RIDE PENDING
jerritt
Have you tried helibars? How do the Convertibars compare
Member Contributer AnikMankar Posted January 10, 2015 Author Member Contributer Share Posted January 10, 2015 I moved from helibars. Helibars were good but this being fully adjustable I am able to get it to the angle I needed.
jerritt
Thanks that's what I thought as well as being able to lower them for a spirited ride in the twisties. I plan on putting ss brake and clutch lines on my bike so I can get them to make them 3" longer at that time
Member Contributer Switchblade Posted January 10, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted January 10, 2015 I like the idea of extending the visor BUT I think if I was you i would run some ribs down the primary windshield mounts so as to give more support. What do you mean by ribs. The mounts are on the default clamps.
Member Contributer Switchblade Posted January 11, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted January 11, 2015 Low speed probably ok but I would bolt a extension that runs down the windshield . You added a lot of length which will increase load on the stock brackets. My laminar lip is not that long and it come loose .
