ninjadoc
Ever since I moved to detroit MI there has been a scarcity of good roads to ride around here. And with my kind of work multiday trips are impossible. And i was forced to ride all the way to ohio which is the closest good roads. An average day ride is around 700 miles starting way before sunrise and then back home at night. Around 250 miles of total slab and then 450 miles of good roads. Only thing i had was panniers Was thinking of getting a dedicated ST at one point of time. But then sicked with this and did some upgrades. Most of these have been done by many vfr owners already, it took me 3 yrs to decide and go with it. Happy with the results so far. MRA touring wind screen - 3/5 , this will be variable for many people, i am 5'11 and with full flexed up the wind goes right through the side of helmet Helibars - 2/5, took weight off the hands on longer rides. I was okay with the stock as i had very long arms. Not sure whtr the trouble was worth it Heated grips - 4/5 early morning chill rides is a breeze now. A must i would say in these midwest areas go cruise cruise control - 5/5 the best investment so far, for 15 $ its worth it weight in gold. x grip + ram holder- 5/5 very clean, simple and good grip usb port with no led indicator - no need to cut into electrical lines 2 magnets plus velcro on ezpass cheap holder Also had new exhaust and suspension done, will make separate topic on those And off course the panniers - 6/5 in my humble opinion a must for any rider doing routine sport touring, the ease of use over soft luggage over many seasons is worth the money.
