Courtesy of a member on the Dutch VFR forum who sourced a compression molded set incl tankcover from China.

for the money he paid, he is 90% happy with the parts.

Key message is to make sure you source parts that are INJECTION molded opposed to compression molded.

The fit will be better and the mounting points will better since they are made in one shot with the panels. The mounting tabs with compression mold are glued on later buy hand.

He since found 2 sites with injection mold technology that may be better

Let the pictures do the talking

This is on both sides of the instrument panel

This what he feels the most annoying since it is in full view; the seller promised to send him some material so this could be filled

The mounting hole on this piece was incorrect, causing this gap. By filling the mounting hole with some rubber strips he eventually got rid of this gap

The mounting tabs on both sides simply broke (they are glued on remember) so he solved that by using a small nut and bolt. Looks ok.

The tankcover is not 100% perfect as it does show a bit of the paint underneath. The mounting holes were wrong so he had to adjust them. no issue since one side is under the seat and the holes at the front are covered by a GPS mount.

On top, you can see there is a cover. He since fitted a tankring (for the tankbag) which masks that a tankcover is used

It's unlikely any manufacturer in china would make injection molds for panels to sell on Ebay, etc. They costs too much to manufacture and volume isn't enough to make sure investment worthwhile. You get what you pay for...

Usually Chinese panels don't last very well. They can deform with heat, or even melt. False economy if you ask me...

What I don't understand is that it says on the page that they (the company) manufacture the parts and at the same time there is a list price and their price for the kits. Who's list price?

Ir's almost not surprising that most will encounter fit problems with aftermarket fairings. If you consider all the fairing mounting points on a bike leaves the factory with slight tolerance deviations already, and we all know that even with the OEM original fairngs on the bike, we still needed a little push here and there to make things fit and line up, most "pattern" fairings will just amplify the mis-fits and misalignments that already existed on the bike even brand new.....

These "pattern" farings do make sense for older bikes, as OEM faring replacement panels are becoming unobtainium as the years go by. And with Honda now limiting their spare parts stocks to just support bike models for only up to ten years, it just makes sense that these aftermarket faring makers will step in to fill the void.
