assatron
Hi Everyone, I am first time poster (be gente), although I regularly find help in these forums in my endeavours to become self sufficient in terms of repairs to my 2001 VFR. Thanks for all the great posts. Now for my question. I was tensioning my chain chain yesterday and a bracket of sorts suddenly dropped from somwhere above the back wheel I believe (see attached pictures). I have no idea of where it belongs. At the time I had the chain guard as well as the rear cowl off the bike. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Patrick
marriedman
I know I have seen that part. Do you have luggage? Can you put something (quarter, wrench, something for scale) next to it and take another picture?
zenkai988
I believe it's No.5 in the photo. It goes from underneath the rear hugger/chain guard to clamp the brake hoses and the hugger. The same thing happened when I took the hugger off and cleaned it. I would put a little bit of grease/glue on the plate so that it stays on the hugger when you bolt it back. Otherwise it could be a little PITA. Hope it helps.
