nobby01
Hi all, Soooo, I noticed recently my fan was not coming on at the prescribed temp. common problem I know, I priced up a new switch from honda spain 84euros!! same switch on ebay 5 euros! no brainer right? no no, the new switch was coming on far too early, the fan would have been permanently on , here in the summer, so in the end I splashed out on a pattern switch from wemoto.com 50 euros. At first all good, but recently I have seen 112celcius and the fan isnt coming on, i am reluctant to use the bike as it is, obviously. but today I stuck a small flatblade screwdriver into the switch wire and bridged across to the fan switch main body. with the ignition on the fan is working. Am i missing something? if it comes on like this, everything should be ok, right?? Any wisdom greatly appreciated!!
Member Contributer gll429 Posted August 3, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted August 3, 2014 the bikes just run hot in start and stop traffic.. check your coolant level... unplug the black wire from the fan to the thermo switch.. splice in another black wire to a switch, located at the place of your choosing. add a ground wire from the switch live happy ever after. Member Contributer Terry Posted August 10, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted August 10, 2014 The shop manual states 98-102 on and 93-97C off.
enzed_viffer
The shop manual states 98-102 on and 93-97C off. Is it? Mine was 106 on, 96 off. So I fixed it: it's now 95 on, 85 off. Unless I flick the switch and turn it on earlier.
