Soft Luggage On The 2014 Vfr

Recommended Posts

Bought the Ortliebs but not that happy about how the fitted, a bit unsure. Went into local shop and they had these Oxford 60 litre bags that looked much better, and they can be moved further back on the bike.

They have lots of pockets to get at stuff when on the road, a strap that goes under the seat as well as two wide straps over the top. And the weight can be taken on the grab rails rather than the body work of the bike.

They are empty here so will see what they look like with a bit of weight in them. They were cheaper than the Ortiebs, these costing £109.

Looking good!

What you could do is get some clear vinyl film (with no or non-residue glue) and put that on the side panels to prevent scuffing.

In the olden days we'd use a tea towel but sand could get trapped and do even more damage.

Blue painters tape works well to cover body parts to prevent chaffing the paint and it's designed to come right off too. I just use a black marker to go from blue to black PRIOR to putting it on the bike. No one has ever figured out it was blue tape under there and you don't have a flash of weird blue across your tail section.
