Streetfighter Fairing Weekend Project

Thought some of you might get a kick out of this.

I took a Buell Firebolt fairing and retrofitted a couple non-Buell lights to give it a different look.

Left side is 2004(maybe?) Yamaha R6 projector set, right side is a Hella driving lamp cut from a busted 2013 BMW 3 series headlight.

I grafted them in by cutting plastic posts which I predrilled for self tapping screws left over from the beemer light. I made a couple small filler pieces to close up the gaps around the projector.

For good measure, I also laid up a carbon fiber windscreen.

I started the project yesterday morning and the fab part would have been done today if I didn't have to run off for Easter activities.

1. What's it going on?

2. If you didn't post that cat picture, I would've...

3. I see a bit of 2009+ Yamaha R1 in it. I like.

1. A custom bike

3. I see a cross between Buell, R1, R6, and BMW S1000RR... (and a cat and a spider...) :goofy:

TMac break ?

?

That is cool!! A streetfighter needs a point of differentiation, and this is a great way to achieve that. I'd go further, and cover the single lens with yellow film...

The saying usually goes..."Don't quit your day job". But for Seb, "Dude, Quit your day job! You should be doing stuff like this for a living". This is some cool stuff Seb. :fing02: As far as the Buell, if it was for a Buell Blast, I would have to agree with Switchblade.

Heck, I think even EB would agree! (From Wikipedia)

"In July 2009, prior to Buell ceasing all motorcycle production, Buell ran an ad campaign stating that the Buell Blast would no longer appear in their line-up. The ad featured a Buell Blast being destroyed in an automobile crusher. For 2010, a limited run of crushed Blast cubes was offered for sale upon request. They were available in Battle Blue, Midnight Black, and Sunfire Yellow, and were individually signed and numbered by Erik Buell."

Very cool. It takes a certain kind of person to be able to think up stuff like what you've done here, and then be able to transform it into something real. I am always in awe of people with your kind of talent. Do we see a street fighter version of the 5th gen VFR perhaps. Or perhaps since it has three headlights, maybe it needs to adorn a Triumph??

In case anyone's interested, I used Valvoline Plio Grip for the plastic modifications.

Good info, I need to do something similar on the VFR fairing to block out the headlights, good stuff!

Fairing looks good too, very distinctive.
