dogman
Yes I am fortunate in that my 4th gen has all fibreglass panels and the finish is excellent. How does the fiberglass stuff look compared to OEM? So now I have the 8th gen VFR, and it's really interesting to follow the controversial opinions about it. The saying about not being able to please everyone rings more true here than ever before. But the more I think about it, the more I like it. And the more I'm happy that I chose not to buy an older model or even a different bike altogether. The finish on the fibreglass panels on the 4th gen is better than the OEM finish was because it has a thick coat of clearcoat over the colour. Yes you cant please everyone and if you want a brand new VFR then there aren't too many options.

Member Contributer Kenn Posted October 30, 2015 Member Contributer Share Posted October 30, 2015 Honda, too frugal for there on good. They devoted too much time to the Africa twin.

PearlBlueSoul
Appearances belay the underpinnings. It's a very sorted thing, this one. A far cry from the gen 6 I had in fit/finish and temperament. Smitten with the thing, indeed.

perseverantist
Not I... Had a 2000 VFR, yellow for a few years. Had a stint with a Kawasaki ZX6R. Never really like the 6/7 gen styling. Got a great deal on a leftover 2014 a week ago. Feels very similar to the 2000 Viffer. Glad I'm back!

TheGuide
My 8th gen is my first VFR. For me it's an ideal combination of a sports bike with touring abilities. Love it.

PearlBlueSoul
my 8th is my 2nd, had a 6th before, and not that I owned it but grew up around a 1st gen. Wanted white but beggars can't be choosers, and the red really has grown on me. :)

Member Contributer Kingmdm Posted April 7, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted April 7, 2016 Yes......we need buttons. How do I vote? 8th, 4th,1st gen. Those terms were new to me when I joined this forum. For me, it's RC30, RC36, RC45, RC79 etc. Maybe it's a generational thing?
