Member Contributer vfrAustin Posted January 1, 2014 Member Contributer Share Posted January 1, 2014 Yesterday I found my R/R connection was toast. I had assumed this was taken care of having an aftermarket R/R and an electric fan attached by the PO. I am going to replace the connector and see what happens. I had never looked at the connection beneath the rubber shroud because I have had no symptoms, therefore I don't know exactly when the "toasting" of the connection took place. Auspanglish
Where are these grounds to the frame? Is there more than 1 on a 5th Gen? IIRC, on the chassis crossbeam just to the left of where the rear of the fuel tank bolts down.
Baileyrock
It's not if it's when ..... Guess I should be caring a spare stator on my bike then, 103k miles and counting! I had a spare motor I could have robber one from, but now it's a complete bike again.

I have not historically been good at routine maintenance, so I have more fixing to do. Given the time you spend with your bikes you will probably be ok...
