Rode 700+ miles to Harrison AR for Hog Tie this year on 9,000+ mile PR2 s. After the AGTs were mounted up by GloryRacing, the new tires on my y2k "disappeared" from consideration. Felt like I was riding on rubber-covered Road Magnets. Fabulous - as long as the rubber was on tarmac :blush2: !

Oh no you didn't !!!

'Fraid so. So Sorry. See the Hog Tie thread for further info.

@BigFish

The only problem I see is you are riding on the middle of the tire too much...LOL! Lots of tread left everywhere else...

I do use the bike to commute to work a fair bit as well as just going for a ride because the day ends in "y"..the challenge where I live is finding roads less straight...there are some, they tend to be back roads strewn with gravel a lot of the time....I'm working on it.

I'm pretty much a weekend warrior - don't do a lot of commuting (unless it's to get to the ranges :) ) - but have been quite happy with these tires so far. I had QT2's on previous - and I can't say I've noticed any difference. I'm getting over just as far as before (I don't consider myself a skilled rider - but am managing to get to the edge of the tires) - so doubt I'll be going back to the QT2's after this. I'll be interested to see just how far I get out of these.

So my experience with the Angel GT's - and I was a bit surprised.

I expected the front to wear out first, however after 10,000kms it's the front that's due for replacement. Worn out on the sides too - the centre is still OK. I'm guessing this indicates that I must be breaking as I'm coming into the corners. Interesting...

The rear at a guess may still have 1,000kms left, or even more in it before wearing down to the markers. Seems to be worn out on the edges more than the centre as well. I wouldn't call myself a racing rider - but I don't mind getting over - especially at lower speeds on hair pin corners.

I've been very impressed with these tires after coming from Q2's and have ordered another pair.

I have these tires and at times they seem bit squirrelly. This is only when it is hot. I even had tar somehow stay on the tire. I checked the pressure and the front was at 36 rear was at 42?????

I lowered the front to 32 psi and the rear to 38. The rear seemed much better but the front would grip like no other but the front felt choppy when turning at low speeds... is this normal? I have roughly 1500 miles on the tires.

What do you all recommend for the tire pressure? This is on my 99 VFR... Thanks in advance!

Depends on what kind of riding you are doing. If I'm flogging any of my current or past bikes out in my twisties at 36f 42r, it's gonna get squirrely. Those PSI's are "max" to me. I use those pressures if it's slab only to a destination but not where the roads get twisty. I'll use those pressures also with all the luggage on and filled. I use 34f, 36-38r for twisty work. I'd recommend going 1 psi at a time.

Agree with luvtoleanit. We are on our second set of Angel GT's on both bikes and run 36 front and 42 back but that is for major long distance travel with loaded panniers and a 40L fully loaded bag on the rear. Tire wear has been great on both sets so far.

Last September at 42351 km I posted a pic of my new Angel GT's. Today at 53178 km they look like this. 10827 km (6766.9 miles) on the rear wheel hauling my 245 lbs plus gear and other items at times in a spirited style of riding. If the roads around here had more curves I think I could have got more mileage out of them. Anyone mastered how to ride the edges of your tires while riding on a straight road. PSI was kept at 36 and 42

Wow!

You are in some serious need of curves... there is a lot of meat on the edges.

On long straights sit with one cheek of the seat... this will slightly angle the tires, 'cause man it looks like you ride horizon to horizon on straightaways...

Perfect solution . . . swap your tires with Switchblade before they get down to the cords - he rides windy roads and only wears out the sides!!

Rush2112, I know it's frustrating. There are some curves just long sweepers nothing like I've read about the Dragon. Hard getting tires when there is so much left on the edges.

Cogswell, other option would to go ride with Switchblade and enjoy some twisties

Sad news at the shop when I went to get my new rear boot. Needing heading bearing and rear wheel bearings. One of rear bearings is on back order up here. Powersports ,Canada contacted honda Canada to put a rush critical bike down on the part. It was on back order for 2-3 weeks. Their critical rush now has the bearing eta for Sept.2nd. Now big bill and no Bee.

Thankfully I have a great friend with the one ass and 2 bikes problem so he has leant me his Ducati Monster 1200 for the past few days. It is quite different from my 5th Gen Bee. Been a fun ride though.
