Guest Dejonlove
Trying to install an adjustable lowering link (bone) on my bike. Instructions specify that the center from hole to hole in the bone should not exceed 5 1/4". I saw another post on the Internet with a bone that was not adjustable, but the center hole to center hole was 5 1/2". Is it worth the trouble to change out this bone if I will only gain 3/4" if I follow the bone manufacturer's instructions? Any other guidance? Member Contributer Africord Posted February 25, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted February 25, 2013 Look up "triangle mod" in the forums. Your 6th gen connects its linkage via an 2 isosceles triangle shaped piece of metal. If you rotate that 60 degrees, you will get a 3/4 inch drop without changing out the bone. Also, if you need a major drop, you should look at these guys: http://www.sigmacycle.com/. I used the triangle mod and ordered their sidestand to address the need for a shorter stand. I'm still able to put it up on the center stand at 3/4 inch down. I doubt that you could still get it on the center stand with a larger drop. I’m trying to find instructions on how to lower the forks in the triple tree. Any help would be appreciated!
