How many attendees this year?

Sorry I couldn't be there but Monday - Friday wouldn't work for me since most of my vacation was used when my baby was born. Hopefully in 2015 I can try again. Glad you guys had such a good time. Look forward to seeing more photos and ride reports.

Zia...didn't you bring your wife? If so then why were you smooching so many bugs? I am almost afraid to see my trailer after you are done with it. :491:

Well after years of supplying bikes and gear to my brother and nephew when they came to visit down South, payback finally came! Thanks to my nephew who supplied his very nice 08 CBR600rr to use to get to the SumSum2. He and my brother Andy spent a few hours helping me add a power supply for both GPS(so I wouldn't get lost) and Radar(so I wouldn't get arrested) to his bike along with a ball mount and a modded stem stand. It was difficult to find space anywhere on this bike, but it all worked beautifully.

Thank Ryan!!!

I ended riding up solo on Wednesday from Colorado Springs and enjoyed some great roads up, especially hwy 92 around the rim of the Black Canyon.

I think I pulled into the Best Western around 6:30 pm finding a nice size group enjoying a great set-up that Tony had for the event!

Dutch looked very surprised to see me there!

post-301-0-64566000-1345345222.jpg

But after the shock he pointed out the big top where attendees were enjoying some cold brews from a freshly tapped keg, there was even a bar keep pouring the beers! Well done Tony!

post-301-0-70087900-1345345302.jpg

Tony did a fantastic job with this event and I will surely have to steal some of his well executed offerings for the next Tmac!

Some of the other Canadians just weren't as happy to see me again!

post-301-0-46883200-1345345261.jpg

I don't know why???

After cleaning up and draining a little more of that keg the group split in two heading to two different eateries. I joined the group heading to the HORSEFLY which happen to be supplying the event kegs, we walked the 10 blocks and took over the place!

We enjoyed some good food and a Few more brews there before heading back the big top and parking lot to finish out the great evening.

Lee was a little distracted thinking about the fact that he was now the Fastest Kansas rider at Two Major VFRD events!

Signature mod coming!

Tony was an exceptional host and made sure everyone had a great time.

Wednesday went long into the evening with mostly lies and other great riding stories being told as the poor keg was drained!post-301-0-00422800-1345347777.jpg

I called it a little earlier just as the cigars and hard stuff came out.

post-301-0-80228600-1345347746.jpg

Thursday morning started another great event day with everyone gathered for the morning riders meeting and the special directions from Tony about the days rides and instructions on how we were to perform the Ride Thru Video.

post-301-0-08701100-1345345531.jpg

Tony did an fantastic job running the show, but shared a little something personal during the meeting that I could have done without!!!

post-301-0-96456500-1345345560.jpg

Some of you Canadians are really Open! Not that there's anything wrong with that!

:laughing6-hehe: :laughing6-hehe: Just messing with you T.

After the morning meeting I joined a great group for Thursdays ride and saw some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever witnessed! The Million Dollar Hwy was insanely beautiful as were most of the routes and rides I got to enjoy during this superb event.

I lived in Colorado for 24 years and somehow missed all these fantastic areas of CO, makes me want to move back!

Thursday evening was topped off with an incredible catered meal under the big top, I'm still full! Not to mention another keg of cold brew from the Horsefly. Followed by the master of ceremonies, Tony dishing out some really good prizes to the attendees, I even won another "special" event shirt. Awesome.

A few too many beers later and I finally went to bed. Originally I thought I would be again riding solo on the way back to the Springs on Friday, but HS decided not to extend his trip and gathered Bill & Mike to join us back to the Springs.

The four of us enjoyed more great roads and scenery heading back including a lunch stop for some pizza in a town that I just can't remember the name of.

Our last stop was just outside Cripple Creek where my wore out azz needed a break from that compact RR.

post-301-0-58286200-1345345594.jpg

It was a really, really good event! Thanks again Tony and all involved with it and also to HS who makes it all possible.

Looking forward to 2015. :tour:

Good thing you had the 600 Kevin, otherwise Miguel might have made you ride his new scooter!

Maybe we could do it like Top Gear does, have the scooter follow the group ride, like the Morris Marina, and anybody who breaks down has to ride the scooter.

Great pics and recap. Wish I could have made it this year. Love the VFRD crowd and love my old state of Colorado. Sounds like Tony Didit again. Congratulations. Perhaps we can make a ride before the season ends: The Vancouver and Okanagon riders meet Washington folks for a North Cascade / Manning Park loop, or Nelson or . . .

2 Questions:

1. What road was that? - CO hwy 50 going strait east from Montrose if you click on the title in the video box there is a map.

2. Which contour camera was that? - an ancient countour hd I have had since before the veefalo

I so wish I could have been there.

I do wish that I had the means to have done some riding with all of you. It was my intent to be able to meet some of the people that are members of the forum, however. All of you are trully part of the 1% no matter what the income level-not the 1% of biker lore( which does not mean 1% bad.... like people think -it means when they pull you off your chopper you leave 99% to the club and 1% to your family).

Anyway, you members are great- all I heard was positive attitude, no racist or sexist anything just talk of bikes and of life and of memories of past group rides. Just gentle ribbing which is as harsh as I ever heard; I am going to have change my screen name to Ex-KGB Secret agent man. I looked over my pics and no license plates showed up ,however. Is this where I should post the 100 pics from the meet?

Tony and Miguel - thanks, you did a wonderful job.

You know the old quote from Mark Twain about being in a club that would accept him?

I'll toss in a few - more later - I hope to add some of the loop I took to get to and from Montrose.

Pre-ride briefing

Didit really put on a first class event - great job.

Another shout out to Buzzard60, our ride leader - he did a great job of not only setting a good pace for the rides, but also of being sure no one was left behind as well as explaining the local history and points of interest when we stopped for breaks. Well done.

The "Red" and the "non-Red" . . . how'd that happen??

The plan was to stop at the diner in Paonia . . . it really is "The Diner". The jukebox looked to be the real thing. Great food, especially the milkshakes.
