I thought about it but didn't find any during a brief search. The bolt size is M6x1

would you know the bolt length seb?

if i can get the length of the clutch bolt and the diameter of the washer part of the head of the bolt. i can maybe find something and test it out.

Bolt thread and washer is ~25mm length, thread ~23.4mm, washer ~1.6mm thick. Washer OD is ~16.67-16.7mm. OEM bolts on a '99 5th gen.

(Note, I'm an accountant, not a techie....)

I measured the pressure plate hole that accommodate the springs:

post-8974-0-29281200-1410943365.jpg

21mm

The M5/M6 Probolt washers have a 19mm OD, leave 1mm "room" on either side

The original bolts have a 16.7 mm washer, which has a little lateral play, so in effect has 2mm "room" on either side.

I will let the technie's chip in to say if this is of concern or not.

If not, what is the view on using the aluminum (comes in color) bolts? Too weak must use stainless?

the holes themselves are 61mm "deep"

post-8974-0-58338500-1410946764.jpg

But there is "only" 33mm thread; so no worries if bolts are a bit longer

(I put in a M6 bolt with 40mm thread length and it "stopped" with 7mm to go)

the only real question for me is if the 19mm washer will work

I'd definitely like to know when you have a new batch available. Lowsided and tore the hell out of my clutch cover today, so I'm in need of one that doesn't leak oil.

Are you interested in one that is rashed, but does not leak to put on your bike until Seb can do another batch of window covers?

You could send your broken one to him for the work and not have your bike down. PM me if you are interested.

Mwah.....

post-8974-0-40634600-1411664097.jpg

The M3 torx with countersunk washers along the rim are a bit too large versus the size of the window frame methink..... I will probably go back to the M3's that Seb put in

As for the spring bolts+washer, the dark blue Pro-Bolts were a larger diameter so I decided against them, went for black instead. with SS torx counter sunk...

Am a bit underwhelmed....

post-8974-0-86949100-1411663770.jpg

so will keep an eye out for different washers...

Put in new stronger springs in "on the house"

Lever pull marginally stronger but I like the feel when accellerating

post-8974-0-51828000-1411667075.jpgThe only -dark- blue countersunk washers I found are Pro-Bolt and they are 19mm diameter.

As I wrote above, the OEM washers are <17mm and the holes in the pressure plate are 21mm.

My black ones are 18mm; but the blue from that Mfrs are a light blue.

Light as the bolts I had put on previously (and I donot like cos the blue is too light).

As you can see, I do not have anything else to worry about in my life.... :goofy:

Though I have seen this thread before and love the look of the cover, would anyone happen to have a photos of one of these magical pieces of visual eye candy installed on a 5th gen??

Cool. I had actually seen those pictures but I thought for some reason your bike was a 6th gen given the undertail exhaust. Perhaps you have installed a 6th gen tail onyerbike??

Thanks for the link and YES, tha does look very cool. Might have to add that to the list of winter improvements. I think getting one of the DMr front fork kits may be required first however. Really like therapist scheme onyourbike to Veefer800.
