Member Contributer vanion2 Posted June 7, 2011 Member Contributer Share Posted June 7, 2011 The VFRness still fixes these issues as well! Clicked on your site and didnt see a VFRness for a 6th Gen, only the 98-99. Same as the 07? (forgive my noobness) It's there: 02-09 VFRness

soichiro
Same exact thing as all 6th gens. I have seen 4. Mine melted the red wire first. The others I have seen did the same thing. I think your model has a bigger wire, so the fuse took the brunt. More likely the fuse holder and the plastic. On a 2002-2005, the wire goes from large to maller and thats where it heats up. I had the recall harness done and it did it again. I made a repair myself and put on a VFRNESS. No problems in that area in 25k miles. My battery died on a trip. I later found the stator, RR connector on the right side was melted beyond repair. I simply did away with connector and my charging system is spot on now. I always carry some fuses and wire on the bike.
