First stop on the way to pick up my RC30 in San Diego was Paso

Robels... there sat an RC45 that was advertised on Rare Sportbikes For

Sale.Com... my friend Rich asked me to gave it a thorough inspection

and test hop... then Rich rode an RC45 for the very first time... He

liked it so much that we bargain a deal for 15K... now he's going to

ride his own RC45 anytime...

Next stop was Chris Dolan's place and to behold his 350 + bike

collection... never before has someone's garage delighted me with so

many rare and unusual bikes...

collection plus a bike once owned by Lester Wheels... Z1 Rickman...

not to mention a CB1100R... Grant also owns a large stash of HRC parts

for the RC45...

morning... we also had fun with an Nr750 piston...

gallery_3131_5079_246910.jpg

gallery_3131_5079_142053.jpg

Jim's full race RC30 sports a HRC frame and an 5.5 RC45 wheel...

gallery_3131_5079_92009.jpg

Jim's street RC30 sports a Moriwaki dry clutch...

What a lovely bunch of coconuts...

gallery_3131_5079_106134.jpg

We are not to be trusted with your engine...

gallery_3131_5079_337597.jpg

Now who's highly modified RC30 is this??? I think the triple clamps

could use more offset...

Jim and I try to replicate the tricky Devils at Honda by taking a

round piston and pressing it oval...

BLS:

What does Chris Dolan do for a living (If it's not top secret)? I see him with a different bike every time I'm at Palomar Mtn. Yesterday, he was riding the BMW S1000RR. Last month it was the RSV4. He's got a BMW HP2, a Duc Streetfighter, Bimotas, etc. Damn!!

Another Epic by Larry!

Dude, you know everyone and get yourself into the strangest and most wonderful places.

I still to this day love the story/picture about cracking a beer with Agostini in a traffic jam after the (Italian, Spanish?) GP!

You really shut a mouth or three on ST.n with that photo!

Can you repost here for us?

Wonderful story, thanks for sharing. For those of us who are new to this sport and haven't yet taken on the adventures everyone talks about, it really keeps me movtivated for when I take my first big adventure.

BLS, you snuck in and out of So-Cal w/out even giving the VFRD crew chance to drool over Mr. RC45! So Sad!

Do any of those gents you met up with need an able bodied young man to sweep their shop, lift engines blocks, and glean all the excess knowledge from their brains?

Too many sweet bikes to count... :fing02:

Thanks for that Larry. Holy crap! I can't believe the collections that some people have.

The 30 looks right at home there; she probably shed a few tears of joy when the door first went up :fing02:

What is that bike at the right? It looks like a track bike. Is it another RC45? The tail section reminds me of an ZX7R but I know that's not possible :goofy:

Oh, it's possible all right. :goofy:

Larry's buddy Marv bleeds Kawasaki green and has a fully superbike-kitted ZX-7R.

You know the one with the flatslides, dry clutch, close ratio transmission and adjustable swingarm pivot ALL STOCK FROM THE FACTORY!

Hey, I couldn't see it very well, it's mostly disappeared off the picture! :goofy:

But Marv's bike is the Shizzle. You don't know how hard I was praying for Eboz to beat Mladin when Eric was on the ZX-r and Mladin on the 'zook1K.

Kavasaki_RedBull_-_Eric_Bostrom.jpg

And I simply LOVED that dual inlet Acropovic exhaust that they were running.

What about that Yamaha then? That also looks extra trick and barely street legal.

Wow, simply wow. I love those bikes, I could just loose myself in that garage for days :fing02:

That is Dave's other bike that I modified... it's a Yamaha SP1 homologated racer done up as a Scott Russell replica... it sports a lot of Yamaha kit parts like the swing arm and tail cowl...

That the prettiest thread I've seen in awhile.
