Guest HKVFR
’08 VFR with a set of Leo Vince titanium exhausts, courtesy of another forum member half way around the world! I forgot to take sound clips of the stock system…… clips of the new set up to come! A newb question…. I know in order to take full advantage of the exhausts, I need to remap my ECU. Could it be done at a shop where they just reflash the stock ECU or do I have to purchase a whole new ECU like power commander? Other than performance, any negative side to getting a new exhaust without remapping (I notice some backfiring under deceleration which I hear is acceptable, long as they’re not backfires under acceleration which kills the catalyst)? Member Contributer ggathagan Posted April 22, 2009 Member Contributer Share Posted April 22, 2009 Unfortunately, you need to purchase a Power Commander III USB and either make or purchase O2 sensor eliminators. You can then either download a map or take your bike to a shop with a dyno and have a custom map made. The PC will run about $300USD. If you buy the O2 sensor eliminators they will run about $15 each (two are needed). Dyno runs seem to be in the $250USD range. I would expect prices in HK to be a bit more. Part number for the PC: 126-411 Part number for the O2 sensor eliminator: 76423005 There are maps in the download section of this message board. I don't know if there's enough difference between the various after-market pipes to require a map specifically for the LV.

Thanks man, I'll probably ride it around without the Power Commander for now, looks like a lot of stuff I need to get; I did the exhaust only for the sound anyway. Apprecaite the info!!!
