Hello everyone!

OK. 2000 model.

I want to make upgrades to my electrical system. I have read every post and link in them.

Now, my brain hurts and i'm more confused than ever.

Can someone (besides my wife) tell me what I need to do?

What exactly is my "sensing" wire anyways?

I would like to have the system a consistent 14 to 14.4 volts as others have. But where to start?

Could you also let me know where to find all these wires too? I can't seem to get my hands remotely close. Do I need to remove the tank or anything else?

Thanks in advance!

Quasi.

Me thinking others are just as confused...

What are the symptoms you are having now that you want to fix? Is it just low voltage? The '98-'01 bikes do not have the additional 'sensing' wire.

Contact member Tightwad and ask him for his VFRness electrical upgrade, smoothed out my voltage problems on my 01

My 2000 has the sensing wire.

I've had numerous problems over the last while.

I think i've rectified them now. The problem was there is so much confusion as to what to do to the various models.

I downloaded Tightwads directions from his website as well as about 6 different wiring diagrams from here. I kind of put everything together and went at it.

We will see where it goes from here.

Thanks,

Dave

If you have any other questions, let em rip. For a quick answer:

Sensor wire detects battery voltage and R/R adjusts output accordingly. Only 2000 and newer VFR came with this kind of R/R stock.

Thanks, I thought it was only the 6th gen-ers that had sense(ing).
