Member Contributer Terry Posted November 18, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted November 18, 2017 Currently have 99901km on my 99 5G. Seems to be running perfectly, all I've replaced is the coolant hoses and FPR (precautionary but not needed). Has got a non-standard RR, and I am very anal about the cleanliness of the wiring connectors. As a self-confessed tinkerer I have replaced the forks and brakes (CBR600F4i), revalved and resprung the forks, and I have Daugherty CBR929 shock, and fitted a FactoryPro shift star. Lint
I'm at 80,550 miles/129,632 km on my 1999. I crashed it, but I'm fixing it and it still runs like a champ. (I did not crash in this picture. Just in case you were thinking that... ?)

Good for you man. That is some serous mileage regardless of KM or miles. Would you mind sharing with us a little history on the maintenance you did to achieve this state and what repair you had to do to it to get it here? otmaximus
I just replaced the clutch on my ‘94 at about 262k miles. It was still perfectly functional but slipped a bit if I hammered it in top gear. Besides that, and especially now, it still runs like a top. Been hit 3x's (ol timers think i'm a parking spot), wrecked once, Each time near completion of paint. replaced the forks (even after swapping shims) because of slop. uhm, thermostat twice, temp sensor twice, i am on my 6th set of grips lol. The motor is the very same, internally. jets, needles, valves, all stock. I do run 2 stroke synthetic in my fuel on every tank

Member Contributer vanion2 Posted January 14, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted January 14, 2018 My 6th gen is at 66k miles and this past year I had to replace fork seals (and of course the fork oil and dust seals), the clutch pack, chain and sprockets. The only thing left on my list are tires but I still have some miles left on my PR2s so it's time to catch up on my ride time (down for 2 months) now that every thing is finally back together.I was seriously close to trading it in on a FJR1300 but the 2 test drives I did on the Yamaha left me uninspired so I decided to keep the VFR. It always leaves me smiling and I couldn't say the same about the FJR. Sent from my P027 using Tapatalk
