That's Milan. Where Trav is planning to meet up, well that's up to Trav. Trav, N. Main and 14? I see me coming in Plymouth Rd. to Main and turning right. I'm just not aware of any "parking spots" there. Oh yeah, count me in fellas. Just don't laugh at my dirty bike; I just took it off a rain soaked trailer and haven't had a chance to wash it up. But hell, you guys are talking about meeting late by my standards; I'm usually in Ann Arbor by 6 AM. I might have time to wash it before I leave! See you tomorrow. . . if I make it all the way there without crashing! A picture of my last hypothetical meeting: border='0' alt='user posted image' /> Jeff, are you there? For crying out loud, tomorrow's your birthday. At least meet us later
Member Contributer Rivcyko Posted April 29, 2006 Member Contributer Posted April 29, 2006 Ox! Don't forget. Huron River Drive. LOL. Needed a yellow one! Cool!
KanadianKen Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Good luck OX!!! stay off the human frame slider portion of your bike- and you'll be fine!! :P
theoxmole Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Got all the gear ready. New frame slider attached. Now I'm going to bed to "envision" tomorrow's ride. My "vision" WILL NOT include any human frame sliding! See you guys tomorrow.
2003_VTEC_Rider Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 All right, for you early risers and forum checkers. What is the plan, where and when type thing. I will have to wait till around 1 or so to leave. I might be able to get out of the house a bit early if my g/f is on the way here. If we can, Ron and I will meet up a bit earlier. Later, Jeff
Member Contributer Rivcyko Posted April 29, 2006 Member Contributer Posted April 29, 2006 LOL. Sorry about the display, on the ride out. LOFL! I Thought it was great that Ox is like, "Beep...Beep", as he rides off, down Carpenter road, prolly think'n, "The damn E-way is right next to me, why can't I find a way onto it! If I weren't in trouble already,..." LOL. Ox, sorry if I got you in trouble. Show the wife this thread. IT WAS MY FAULT. To Mrs. Theoxmole, Humblest appologies. My Fault. Dirt road. LOL. As in, "Weeeee,...dirt road". Ron, 2003, Sorry thought you guys were take'n 94-275, not 23-14. "OOOhhh, your'e miss'n the exit!" Most gracious, "thank-yous", To Fz1gpt, and Manda. Most excellent. You guys rock! :D Slight bilp 1/16 throtttle, then all out. She'll come right-up. :squid:
Member Contributer Rivcyko Posted April 29, 2006 Member Contributer Posted April 29, 2006 Now, Pics! border='0' alt='user posted image' /> 100_2837.JPG Huron River Where? Had a tag along that joined us on N. Territorial. An R-1. Figured he'd blow past us, but he kept formation. I was in back, and let him forward, as I didn't want to spoil the twisties, with my slow a$$. (He had shown not to be a stranger to a group ride). (Got to be weary of these things). Didn't want to put my buds in jeopardy. border='0' alt='user posted image' /> 100_2839.JPG Chris, on his R-1 Expected a squid, got a seasoned rider, named Chris. Good fellow. Curtious and aware. 60,000 on his bike. Wow! border='0' alt='user posted image' /> 100_2844.JPG Honda invades Yamaha-ville Thank you FZ1. So much for Yamaha. :squid:
Guest Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 (edited) good ride. cool people. have to do it again. Edited April 30, 2006 by fz1gpt
2003_VTEC_Rider Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Yes, like normal great to see everyone. Hopefully next time we will all get out and get a good ride in. Maybe we can get a few other viffers there, and hit some twisties. :D Later, Jeff
theoxmole Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 (edited) Excellent ride! Good work Riv; the road were fun and I'll never talk bad about someone who takes the initiative to plan one of these. Welcome new member fz1gpt. Your hospitality and riding skills rock. Don't get me started on your custom bodywork and your '64 Triumph. . . The day started off as any other. . . my wife woke me up at 9:00 and said, "So you're not going riding today?" :squid: Luckily, I had all my gear laid out the night before and jumped to it ASAP. I headed north and, after 30 minutes of searching, ran into Riv and FZ1gpt at a small carry out. We rode some of the curviest roads available in Michigan. Phenomenal roads. I had no idea they existed. Thanks Riv. And for you asphalt rippers, try to hang with us! We can go from asphalt to dirt in the blink of an eye! After about 250 miles we arrived at fz1gpt's house. I spent a good hour slobbering on his carbon fiber work and Triumph. That's when VipeRon and 2003_VTEC_Rider showed up. We shared stories and beers for quite awhile. Big kudos to dear Amanda and fz1gpt for the brats and other food. Good eats and, if given more time, I would have helped with the porch. Anyway, good pic opportunity: border='0' alt='user posted image' /> Couldn't help but notice the guy across the street: border='0' alt='user posted image' /> He had something to prove but wouldn't run with us! For those that can't tell, it's a battery powered Harley-look-alike. If it was a Harley, the results would have been the same but the little kid had no idea. The "meet" ran later than I had expected and had told the wife and I got a late start for home. We agreed to roll out of town, four VTECs strong and hit the road. Riv, you're still a squid! :goofy: BTW, I'm getting a 15 tooth sprocket ASAP! I missed my on-ramp as a function of wanting to ride with the guys and ended up taking a 30 minute ride that lasted an hour. Oh well. It's all good. As Riv would put it, Mrs. Theoxmole, was in a tizzy when I got home. But hey, sometimes you have to pay the piper. Can't wait to do it again. Next meet is at my house; ALL bikes welcome (that's you fz1gpt). I'm thinking May 13. We'll hit up Honda East for some free food, dry humping their bikes and a ride down the famed River Road from Waterville to Grand Rapids. If you're lucky, we may run into Bunsel. Let me reiterate, that FZ1 is the cat's ass! The body work is out of this world. I hope you are all lucky enough to see it in person some day. Edited to include the following facts: 1) My daughter and I washed the crap out of the bike today. 2) I put some wax on it after it dried. 3) My bike kicks ass. Take that Jeff! It's clean AND faster than a red bike! Edited May 1, 2006 by theoxmole
Guest Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Sorry I missed the ride! It was seriously lacking an old white bike.... Don't know if I can make a May 13 ride (mother's day weekend..). But, let's get some planning on a May 6 or 7th ride in the northern sections of Oakland county. I've been scouting routes, and will put something good together. If weather cooperates, let's get an early start and get a jump on the 4-wheeled types. I'll stock my garage fridge for some after-ride refreshments. I need to get pics of a bunch of bikes in my drive! see ya -- Jeff
2003_VTEC_Rider Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Jeff93, Let me know what you want to do, I should be able to make it. If you need some help planning that route, let me know. I have some tricky curvy roads up my sleeve (Riv and Ron know where, ) and I am sure that we could put together something fun. Later, Jeff
Guest Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Hi Jeff -- Maybe we divide and conquer: You can plan a 'southern' routh (say, south of 12 mile), and I'll plan a 'northern' route in my neck of the woods, perhaps heading up through white lake, highland, holly, etc. Let me know. I was out running some roads last night, getting used to the new tires. Very nice compared to the old bricks that were on it when I bought it last year. see ya -- Jeff
2003_VTEC_Rider Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Funny you mention it, I ride up your way most of the time. We should put our heads together and see what roads we know in common. I know some pretty technical curvy spots out your way. Later, Jeff
Member Contributer Rivcyko Posted May 1, 2006 Member Contributer Posted May 1, 2006 D-oh! Not try'n to spoil anything but,...That is the weekend of the bike rally and $20 dyno runs, in Toledo. Figured if we got enough different configurations, (even with the in-accuracy of the dyno), we sould be able to get a solid idea of pony increases, from P.C.s, exhausts, etc. :joystick:

Guest Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Hey Travis -- We are talking about riding May 6th (NOT the 13th, as the 13th is mother's day weekend). So you are free to go down to Toledo... So, how does it look for a ride on May 6th? You can head a bit north, and maybe Lobster's bike is ready? see ya -- Jeff

I have to work Saturday evening at 6. I'll monitor the thread and keep you updated...I'd really like to burn a few hondo miles into my new tires... You guys should come up and bowl the special Sunday night at Century Bowl. Not that I get a bonus for plugging or anything...I don't. But we're giving away $200 worth of gas cards that night. For $10 you get to bowl from 9-midnight as much as you want (plus shoe rental). Someone's going to win some gas money, here's hoping it's one of you guys.

Guest Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Hi Travis --- Are you in for this Saturday, May 6th, morning ride? I'm working on a route, starting near union lake (conveniently my place!), and running through/around: milford, highland, white lake, and perhaps up to holly area. Should be a good loop. Going to pre-run in the next couple of days, nail down refreshment stops, etc. Jeff, let me know if you have any specific stretches of road to include. Mike, larry, Theox, who's game? see ya -- Jeff
Member Contributer VIPERon Posted May 2, 2006 Member Contributer Posted May 2, 2006 I should know by Thursday if I can make it.
