Rllwjoe Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Hi all. Thought I should join VFRD when VFRW went down for a few days. I was getting desperate for comunication, what with the frigid tempatures and lack of ride therapy available mid-winter. I've been an active member over at the other site since 2017 a couple of months after obtaining my '98. Thank you, fellow VFR enthusiasts, for gifting a membership to me also. Joe 7 Quote
Member Contributer FromMaine Posted January 31 Member Contributer Posted January 31 Welcome aboard! Always good to get a fresh perspective from a new member. Lots and lots of good, valid, technical information here from this group with no agenda, a refreshing difference from some other boards I have checked out. I've had/have 9 different V4's in the past 25 years without to many hiccups maintenence wise. #10 is a 2001 5th Gen. and I can honestly say I would have struggled mightly to get it in shape had it not been for many of the members here. I think you will find this to be a worth while place to spend time. Finally, I had to look twice before I realized we're both members of the WWOA5G club (White Wheels on a 5th Gen). 1 Quote
Rllwjoe Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 Thanks, FromMaine! I admit that I was inspired to have white rims when I first saw Jay (RVFR)'s '98 almost ten years ago. Mine came with red powdercoated rims that was too much red. I still have them, and have planned to strip them and have another set of white for track-only-tires. I do like the look of the 8 spoke rear, but the prices that I've seen have, up to this point, kept me from obtaining one. Mello! Thanks for the welcome, it's good to see many familiar "faces" here. 1 Quote

I think there is literally one Honda that came with red rims that I like. All (most) other attempts just feel forced. 2 Quote

Those three big spokes still look awesome. I was so close to spending the money I didn't quite have on the VF500 for that reason, but ended up with my VF700. I think, ironically, that it was the red seat that put me off. Great photo. Quote

Rllwjoe Posted Sunday at 04:20 AM Author Posted Sunday at 04:20 AM MBrane, & bmart, thanks for your welcome. Re: the 7 days of warm weather in Michigan. I had to laugh at the concept of any warm weather! I packed the VFR away for the winter way back in mid-November. Even though we lost all of our snow and ice, and the roads were dry about three weeks ago, I didn't pull her out because the residual road salt was everywhere. If I can swing it, I'd love to do another track day. Work schedule will dictate if that will happen. If it does, I certainly hope that it lands on one of those warm weather days! Quote
