Buckley Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) Hello all, Fantastic forum which I have enjoyed reading. I have a VFR1200FD 2013 in the EU The only changes I have made are.. Sabsteef ECU flash (well worth it) LSL flat bars and peg lowering kit (I’m 6ft 4) increased touring comfort significantly) ruined the looks but vanity is not my thing. Lower screen as no matter what size screen I bought the wind hit me right in the head! LED light headlamp kit (huge improvement over stock) Now my problem. I was riding in Vienna last week, noticed my indicators weren’t working, occasionally got a fast flash and green light on the left dash. I got home, checked all fuses and bulbs no problem. Dismantled the switches cleaned everything with contact cleaner. The left spring in the indicator switch looked off so I removed it and reinstalled it, the switch now clicks as it should and feels solid, but still no right hand indicators. The headlights, horn, brake lights et al all work fine. So my next thought is to look at the turn signal relay. I don’t have a full service manual but I believe it’s located far forward under the panel on the left hand side of the bike? I am loathed to purchase a whole new left hand cluster as I really believe it’s the left hand indicator toggle, it was full of dried grease and the spring on the right did not sit the same as the left one, does anyone know if these can be purchased separately? Or had a similar issue they were able to remedy? Any help much appreciated. I also want to do the shocks in 100kg in full kit and think the ride would benefit from it, won’t be paying out for Öhlins though and I’m considering a hyper pro kit or YSS Edited April 21 by Buckley Grammar Quote
Buckley Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 (edited) Oh and one more thing… (Columbo style) I have reached 30,000kms now 18,000miles When I start up, I now hear a strange noise that goes as soon as I get one bar on the temp gauge, I ride in silly cold weather though. Its not a fuel pump priming or anything obvious. Swapped out the oil and filter from some some fancy repsol full synth and went with Castrol semi 10-40W. The sound is much reduced and with the warmer temps it is much quieter. Fearing a failing oil pump though. Only paid 3,500 dollars for the bike and smile every time I ride it. So prepared to put some money into it. They are extremely unpopular over here and always have been, but what a bike for the money! Edited April 21 by Buckley Grammar, spelling. Quote
