Member Contributer Skids Posted January 28 Member Contributer Posted January 28 A VFR1200X Crosstourer arrives 7 Feb. Whilst I love my 1200F, she's is increasingly harder to ride for long periods as I get older. The X has the benefit of an upright seating position, a larger fuel tank along with the beautiful engine, albeit less power. She's a 2020 model with only 832 miles from new. Dealer stamps for all Annual Services and full Honda luggage. Lots to check when she arrives; fluids etc but really hoping the weather improves soon so we can enjoy this beauty! 7 Quote

Member Contributer VFRMAN Posted July 23 Member Contributer Posted July 23 HI Skids, How are you getting on with the VFR1200X? what's she like on fuel? what's the actual fuelling like? snatchy? I'd imagine she goes through rear tyres pretty quick? been looking for a touring bike with shaft drive, just can't bring myself to buy a BMWGS! also been looking at Yamaha S10's. Thanks. 1 Quote

Long story short I've not really ridden her yet and certainly not gotten around to changing all the fluids like she needs. This is a long-term keeper so I'm going to invest some £££ into her, with planned suspension upgrade as well as crash bars (already bought - SW-Motech), DRLs, ECU Flash depending on how she feels when I've ridden her more, possibly new tyres, Sat Nag (thinking about a large screen Android Auto display), new seat, heated grips etc. I'll start the work this winter as I retire at the end of Oct and will have more time on my hands to do this but in the meantime, she has her MoT (annual safety test) tomorrow morning 🤞 1 Quote
Member Contributer VFRMAN Posted July 25 Member Contributer Posted July 25 Thanks Mate and good luck with the bike, looking forward to seeing how your bike turns out with all the upgrades, great engine that you are familiar with already, that's the most important thing. The only thing I don't fancy is the spoked wheels, think it was a form over function decision by Honda, there was no need for spoked wheels on a bike like this imo anyway. Quote
Member Contributer Skids Posted July 25 Author Member Contributer Posted July 25 Have to agree with you there, the CT is NOT an off-road bike. Quote
Member Contributer Skids Posted August 3 Author Member Contributer Posted August 3 New garage is taking shape, still lots to sort out the correct place for and need to wire in the battery tenders. CT on the ramp ready for me to start work on her over the next few months. Not intending to ride her any more this year. 6 1 Quote
