Flister Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Just before I was finally able to pull the trigger on some Lextek headers, I read from someone saying it won’t fit the Deluxe model because the center stand is in the way. After looking at Delkevic they also list their headers for the VFR800 F model, not the deluxe. Has anyone tried installing the Delkevic on the deluxe to confirm it wont work, or any other headers they will fit? Thanks guys Quote
Member Contributer fink Posted December 16, 2024 Member Contributer Posted December 16, 2024 They will. Its only you Americans that have the anomaly of the vfr. Everyone else in the world gets the DLX model as std. The company is based in UK so will have been tested on a model with centrestand as will have delkevic {on a side note did you know Delkevic started off as DK spares selling used parts) Quote
Member Contributer VFR78 Posted January 12, 2025 Member Contributer Posted January 12, 2025 The Lextek site notes that their headers will not fit, if there is a centre stand on the bike. 1 Quote
Simmso Posted Wednesday at 09:40 AM Posted Wednesday at 09:40 AM This is an old thread but helped me figure out if the Lextek would fit my UK bike with centre stand. Lextek confirmed that it will not fit. "To clarify, the downpipes will not fit with the centre stand installed. The design of our downpipes is larger than the original equipment (OE) downpipes, which means that the centre stand must be removed for proper installation." Quote
Member Contributer JZH Posted Wednesday at 11:07 AM Member Contributer Posted Wednesday at 11:07 AM If so, it's a poor design for headers intended to be used on street bikes--best avoided. However, poor design is not unique among aftermarket header manufacturers... I realise that this is a different bike, but I was once able to fit the centre stand back onto my RC36-I (3rd gen) by spacing it down ~40mm using thick steel bar. That modification allowed the centre stand to clear the bike's Two Brothers Racing full right-exit exhaust, which TBR assured me "would not fit" with a center stand. However, that mod only worked overall because I had also increased the rear ride height by ~40mm (otherwise it would have been very difficult to get the bike onto the centre stand!) I just mention this because a manufacturer saying "it won't fit" isn't necessarily the last word. Ciao, JZH Quote
