Sandon
Looking for new grips for my 92. Something with a bit more cushion for longer rides. Any suggestions?

3rdgenred
I lol on longer rides. How long of a ride are you talking? grip opinions are like tire opinions. I'm a tried and true dunlop guy. Have been for over 20 years. these grips are what i put on all my bikes, and my kids bikes, they both ride cbrs. https://ebcbrakes.com/products/galindo-grips/
Member Contributer Terry Posted August 26, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted August 26, 2023 Oxford Hotgrips for me. I'm way too old to enjoy cold hands. They are perfectly comfortably for my endless rides (longest about 14 hours non-stop). My knees and butt are much more at risk of being show-stoppers than my hands. BluRoad
My go-to grips: https://www.biltwellinc.com/collections/recoil …and I add heating elements.
Member Contributer BusyLittleShop Posted September 5, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted September 5, 2023 The BLS method of removing grips without destroying them... 1)slip a rat tail comb under the grip... 2)trickle alcohol down the length of the gap created by the comb... 3)remove comb and twist the grip to work the alcohol in between grip and throttle barrel... Best grip I found is Spider Grips... Spider Grips feature durable variable density elastomers, patent pending shaped boundary layers with isolated secondary layers, energy dispersing flanges, and a multi-faceted geometric surface area. Spider Grips are manufactured in Taiwan and distributed by Pit Bull. Ride with Spider Grips and you'll feel less vibration, which in turn means less fatigue. You can give up the death grip hold, so you won't get arm pump and you'll be able to ride longer. Special grip material works great, even when wet.
Member Contributer bmart Posted September 5, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted September 5, 2023 My removal method is to shoot compressed air from the compressor in one end or the other, slides right off. Same for install. I've never used adhesive as long as the bars are clean. 2
vfrgiving
Another option is to install Grip Puppies over existing grips. Last set I installed I lathered the grip and inside of the Grip Puppy with hand sanitizer before sliding them on. https://grip-puppy.com/pages/grip-puppy-comfort-grips I don't bother with heated grips, I've found heated glove liners more effective.
Member Contributer Wald Posted September 8, 2023 Member Contributer Share Posted September 8, 2023 My '97 came with grip puppies, I took them off after the second ride as I found the grips to thick and did not have a proper feel on the handle bars. I wear glove size XL. Just my personal experience. The other grips mentioned here are interesting
