I had a 6th gen and never had to change out the CCT but at higher kms many have.

Anybody out there had to change out the CCT on the 8th gen.

With electricals now bullet proof these 8th gens seems pretty indestructable and reliable.

Replaced both of mine at about 60k mi.

Just curious, were you hearing any strange noises typically caused by the CCT's or were they replaced just as a maintenance precaution?

Lots of top end noise at 60k. CCTs were done as a precautionary....already in there doing the valves.... O

Thanks RC79 yep, may as well while doing the valves. Hopefully they won't need doing again till your nearing 200 thousand!!!!

Replaced mine at 22k miles, one seemed to be sticking. I got a hell of a clatter come on suddenly within the first 0.5mi, stopping & restarting cleared it, it happened a second time a few days later so changed both but also fresh oil and new filter. The oil & filter had only covered 2k mi. Been ok since
