Front Fork Leaking

Recommended Posts

On my '09, one of the forks sprang a leak, I used a "seal mate" and got the bugger out. All good now but at 32,000mi. I'm going to change the fluid and perhaps replace the seals. That got me to thinking about a guy that rebuilt these forks and maybe put a stiffer spring in for my 260lbs.

Anyone have a lead on him, wasn't he Daugherty? or the like? Thanks, Robert.

if I used a different weight oil, would that stiffen up the nose dive?

Short answer: No.

at 260lbs you need a much stiffer spring (1.1kg/mm) than stock (0.85kg/mm) AND updated valves.

Jaime is your man, he's easy to work with, check his website to set price expectation.

I can't believe a Honda came with 0.8x springs.   Usually have to reduce rider weight to almost zero for any stock springs to be "correct".

Haha!  My god.  I bet that one is like the ST1100, rider weight has to be zero for it to recommend that spring.   Yeah previous Gen VFR was 0.74 I think.

'93 ST1100 = 0.61

stock springs/valves on the 5th Gen/SuperHawk and you have a PogoGP bike.

even when I was 170lbs,  the valves were "no bueno"

Jaime's front and rear suspension work makes for a great bike.
