Calling all VFR owners in CT

I am looking to see how many riders are in CT, that would be interested in setting up and attending a possible monthly meet-up. Location cold be a single repeating location, could be a rotating set of places, open to ideas.

I am located on the shore by New Haven, Picture of my bike just cause, haha.

I don't have Facebook or Instagram so don't really have any idea of any goings on there if there is something set up already though.

It's hard to believe, but this year is the 25th year of the annual We Don't Give A Hoot weekend!

As many of you know, WDGAH is the annual Northeast gathering of VFR riders (and former riders, and a few friends). This has been going on for 25 years now, since the days of the original VF/VFR listserv. Some of you may have attended "back in the day" - why not come out this year for the 25th!!

Announcing WDGAH 24!

Yes, the WDGAH show will go on, despite the pandemic. As many of you know, WDGAH is the annual Northeast gathering of VFR riders (and former riders, and a few friends). This has been going on for 24 years now, since the days of the original VF/VFR listserv.

Details:

Dates: September 11 - 13
Home base is again the Fireside Inn, West Lebanon, NH (still only $99/night!)
Make hotel reservations by AUGUST 20 in order to secure the group rate!
Bryan again plans to host his Friday early-bird barbecue.

A few changes this year due to COVID-19:

All hotel guests must sign a COVID-19 form upon check-in (basically saying you're healthy and have been following safe COVID procedures)
Breakfast is still served, but no buffet - plated breakfast only
The hotel restaurant is closed; other choices walkable
Call the hotel to make reservations, no online reservation setup this year.

And a final EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT for planning purposes: WDGAH 25 will be September 10 - 12 of 2021. We hope to have a "reunion" of sorts, for all of those who have made WDGAH so great over the years - even if you haven't been in a while, and even if you are no longer on two wheels. You have over a year to plan! No Excuses! :-)

Mark your calendars! WDGAH will once again be held the weekend after Labor Day. I know many of you on VFR-D have joined in the past. Please join us if you can for our annual northeast VFR enthusiast gathering. It's hard to believe it, but this is the 23rd year for this event!

Home base is once again West Lebanon, New Hampshire.

We have again secured a group rate at the Fireside Inn & Suites in West Lebanon. The price actually went DOWN from last year - $99/night, based on double occupancy. This of course covers not only the room, but the excellent buffet breakfast.

I suspect some of you would thoroughly enjoy the rides we (Sport Touring Motorcycle Club) do pretty much every Sunday from April-December.

First Multi-Night Ride - Montreal to Mount Cadillac (Maine)

Hello fellow VFRers

Planning my first motorcycle trip. Been riding since 2003 and have several 500+KM days under my belt and decided it was time to use this bike for another purpose that it was intended for: Touring!

I've got a 2014 VFR with about 10K KMs (6K miles). I will being doing a fluid flush this year (bike is 2 years old) and changing tires prior to the trip. Bike is equipped with a quickshifter, the OEM side cases and a 45L OEM top box with pad. I plan to ride two-up with the wife ( a combined 300+ pounds) plus our gear. The trip planning will most likely see us start soft with a ride to Woodstock and overnight there(400KM trip as to get the wife used to it). Then on to Mount Cadillac where we will stay overnight and ride the mountain the next day. Then we head home straight (somme 700KMs with a border crossing) Here are some of my questions:

Do you all have suggestions on communicators to use (or not). It would be just between my wife and I.
I've got a RAM mount and USB feed to power my iPhone that I was planning to use as GPS. Suggestions /concerns?
Do I need a tool kit beyond hat the bike comes with? Tools/Parts to add?
As a noob, what else am I missing?

Hi guys & gals

Newish VFR800 owner here (2014 purchased new last year). Loving the bike and looking to take a road trip sometime this supper (overnighter or more). I was wondering if there are any events on the east coast closer to Canada (Montreal to be specific) where some of you meet up or participate?

I'm not really interest in huge bike week type events with BIG crowds. Just want a nice scenic ride with some decent twisties along the way and good company.

We are leaving DC around 7am Saturday morning. Forecast is mid 70's high and mid 50's low. Running out west on route 66 our first stop will be the Apple House for breakfast if you would like to join us. Arrival there should be around 8:15am or so and probably be finished and ready to roll out from there by 9am. Let me know if anyone else wants to join. The loop is about 400miles and will be all day. Back in DC area before dark.

Pine Creek Gorge ride - The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania

I'm planning an overnight trip this weekend to Pine Creek Gorge, PA, aka The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. I'd like to see some amazing scenery and ride some nice twisties while I'm in the area.

I'm having a bit of a hard time deciding on a route that keeps me near the gorge through most of the trip from Ansonia/US Route 6 to Waterville, which is supposedly near the southernmost point of the gorge. Is anyone here familiar enough with the area to offer route suggestions and must-see locations? I'll probably want to avoid gravel roads unless they're short diversions to another paved road.

Tips on decent but affordable motels/hotels and good food are very much welcome, too.

just wondering who is going and what days you plan on being there. I took the week off from work and plan to do some riding everyday.

I will be there 6/8-6/10. going to be doing some demo rides at the Honda booth, maybe the Africa twin and vfr1200x.

its been about 5-6 years since I took the time to go out there so I have been wanting to go.

Nj Supreme Court Approves Police Can Search Vehicles Without A Warrant

Abit off topic, but still confined to the NE. The NJ Supreme Court recently voted that Police can search a vehicle without a warrant, so long as they have probable cause. And the one who decides if they have probably cause is the officer themselves.

My question on this matter; will this change any of your (2 or 4 wheeled) riding/eating/site-seeing destinations/routes in New Jersey going here on forward?
