FYI, the 4 plastic caps that cover the bolts on the carrier WILL pop out on the road (I have one left of the four). I highly recommend using a bead of silicone around the base of each one; not a ton, just enough to hold it in place.

...apparently, there is no way to get replacements so losing them, as I did, sucks! :pissed:

Yes, same happened to me. Almost IMMEDIATELY. I temporarily used the single one remaining as a pattern to fabricate some "plugs" out of my wife's exercise mat. The texture matched and I hollowed out the underside, and used double faced tape on the edge. I was not happy either, and told my dealer as much. They told me the same thing, they could not get them as there was no North American part number for those plugs. Ridiculous. :pissed: Obviously there is a number, as they are produced, and therefore technically traceable, which to me meant obtainable and I said GET THEM. Luckily I have a good relationship over the years with my dealer, and though I do not know the specifics, they did manage to get 4 of the plugs under warranty. When replacing them, I used a layer of saran wrap on the edges to get a very tight fit without the worry of adhesive which i was afraid would result in destroying the plugs if they had to be removed. After 5K miles at "notable speeds" they are still in place.

Glad you got yours replaced. I need to go have a chat with my dealer about mine. I understand the part number thing though as they are part of an assembly (the carrier plate) but you'd have to order the entire assembly to get the plugs ...BS.

If I can get more, I will just run a thin bead of silicon to hold them in, I don't think it would be too strong to pry them loose, but should hold them. ...then again, your saran wrap idea seems to be working pretty well! :)
