Hello Cleveland! Rock n Roll! ( ... from Spinal Tap )

Just got my first bike, first Interceptor.

Took the bike for a test ride before I bought it, and was instantly hooked, by the V4 rush!

1999 VFR with 17K miles.

Wasnt really taken care of though. Maybe sat outside. Cracked bodywork, scrapes. Been down

Got it in December so my ride time has been limited. Yet with the mild winter, Ive gotten some good rides in.

Thats till I found a giant gash in my rear tire. And that started the snowball rolling.

Im gonna get some pix up this week, but as it sits right now?

On moto-stand.

No tires / Rims

No bodywork / Seat / Fenders

No tank / Air filter

No exhaust / Headers or Can

What am I up too?

1. RIMS / TIRES / BRAKES:

• Stripping powdercoat off rims. Goin Great. Using Aircraft Remover. Gel. Rear is almost done
  
• Was gunna repowdercoat black, but dig the raw aluminum, so gunna run that for at least 1 set of tires.
  
• Gunna polish Rear. And sand / polish spokes on front rim.
  
• Bridgestone Battlax BT-023s = $209 / pr.
  
• Needs new pads
  

2. CLEANING / DETAILING:

• Been scrubbing and cleaning the gunk with Pinesol. Already looking good!
  
• Cleaned off gunk off chain. DID. Is that stock?
  

3. ENGINE / MAINTENANCE:

• Did valve inspection. All in spec! Yay!

• Downloaded PDF manual. Big help too!
  
• Cleaning motor
  
• Painting motor with POR15 Enamel
  

4. EXHAUST:

• Headers / Muffler is off.
  
• Gotta sandblast headers.
  
• Ceramic coat of headers. Cuz is doin for free. Yes!
  
• Muffler? Of course I want new slip-on, but too poor.
  
• Found nice Yosh can on craigslist for $100. Waited to long, sold :(
  
• Next used can im eyeballin is Yosh Tri-Oval for $200.
  
• Might wait till spring and get new one.
  
• Concerned about tailpipe from header to can, Want hi-mount too. Were do i get that tailpipe?
  

5. BODYWORK / PAINT / GRAPHICS:

• Made repairs using ABS / Kydex and ABS cement.
  
• Need to mfg lower mounts / tabs. Busted off oil pan :(
  
• Gunna do screaming eagle graphix on side fairings.
  
• Want carbon fibre front fender. Probably gunna skin it. Looks tight!
  
• Would like to carbon fibre skin side cowls / fairings so Eagle shows thru in carbon fibre black.
  

6. OTHER STUFF I WANT TO DO / MMMMM

• Bigger oil cooler with fan. Have tru-cool oil cooler right now. Will fit, but think I should go with smaller one. Only $45
  
• Metal valve stems. 83 degree / 11mm Arietes / Bridgeports
  
• Carbon Fibre parts
  
• Halo / Demon eyes light
  
• HID lights
  
• Heated grips
  
• Seat? More padding?
  
• Braided Brake Lines. Less flex. Best upgrade for brake system
