Two Brothers Header Replication!

Recommended Posts

Seems like Tyga is possibly interested in replicating the TBR header for the 3rd and 4th gen,

So does anyone have a TBR header you could send to Tyga (when the time comes) so they can take measures???

I think the high left exit header would be the nicest one.

How many of you are interested? This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity!!

Heres the email correspondence between me and Tyga:

Hi!

Been following the tread at the VFRD forum about the group buy for a Tyga

full exhaust for the 5th-7th gen VFR. Think it\'s amazing that you are

willing to produce this exhaust on request of the VFR community.

I\'m wondering if the same could be done for the 3rd and 4th gen VFR\'s? The

4th gen header fits the 3rd gen, and there is many enthusiasts out there

that would love to get hold of a preformance header/full exhaust. Two

brothers made a excellent full exhaust in the nineties, people are crazy

about them if one happens to show up on ebay(wich is not very likely).

Would it be possible that someone sent you their Two brothers header so you

could replicate it?

Cheers

Anders

Hi Anders

Many thanks for your message below and your suggestion. For sure, if the

5th-7th generation project goes to plan then we'll be very interested in

looking at making exhausts for earlier models. We would need a sample so

yes, that would be good if someone could help us source one.

Best regards

Paul

That's pretty cool. I currently own both styles of the headers that Two Bros made for the 750's,neither of them have the stock exit location and they are slightly different from each other so there would have to some agreement between all interested of which one to use.

Also, the sound is very different between the two. One is 4-1 and the newer style is 4-2-1. The 4-2-1 makes better power I think but I have the 4-1 on the bike right now because it just has that sound that I couldn't give up.

I might be persuaded to help out if there are enough of us interested.

Thanks, Alhazred! We'll just have to wait and see if people are interested. As "unobtanium" as these pipes are, one would expect that the demand is there. Then we have to discuss the price with Tyga.

Are your pipes low or high mount?

Good, so we are now 5 interested so far,

-Me 1

-Blackdot 1

-slo1 2

-Koconut 1

Haven't got any replies yet from Tyga about how many orders they need or cost estimate, think it was around 600$ + shipping for the 5th gen, that is making a header from scratch, not a replica.

Heres the 5th gen thread: http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/82473-tyga-vfr800-headers/

Got an answer from Tyga about when they could start manufacturing the exhaust.

Hi Anders

Thanks. At this stage no idea on the time frame but it will be months given our current schedule.

Appreciate your enthusiasm.

Looks like we'll have to wait for the 5-7th gen headers to be produced first

Hi Anders,

Thanks for the reply and the questions. Unfortunately, I don’t have any answers yet. Like I mentioned in the first email, we need to see how the later model sells. We’ll have a much better idea after that.

Best regards

Paul

Thanks! A little surprised that there hasn't been more people interested yet..

Mentioned this thread at VfrWorld and the VFR 750 RC36 facebook group(check it out, pretty active group only for rc36 I/II)

A nicely made left side high mount exhaust for the 4th Gen is definitely on my wish list. :fing02:

The ability to keep the side-stand is a strong plus. Centre-stand, I don't care much.

Something like this would be nice  : http://www.tygaeurope.com/wp-content/uploads/exps-0003left-4093068f.jpg

Now, where did I put that piggy bank again? :unsure2: :sad2:

Twobros left high mount is my favorite too, you'll loose the center stand with it, but i can live with that.

Personally i don't like the 2 muffler setup very much.

Tyga makes some really nice things, pure porn. Sadly nothing for the vfr 750.

Shall i put you on the list RC36Rider? It's not an official list, just to get an overview.

When Tyga is ready to discuss the possible production, i will make a binding registration list.

Why on earth would any exhaust mess with the side stand?

ANYWAY...I've tried this with various exhaust manufacturers. I promise you that everyone interested here will soon back out when they see the cost of production, plus markup, plus shipping. Making exhausts is NOT cheap, no matter where you're based. I contacted about 8 exhaust manufacturers in the UK offering to send them my Sebring left exit, "yeah we can do it" they said, "ok cool" I said, "how much for ten units?" I asked, "oh about £5000" (some where even more). Reckon people are REALLY willing to spend that kinda money on an exhaust for an ageing bike?

Don't want to sound negative, but until prices are put up, I would take all interest VERY lightly.

Oh and I also contacted Motad, they outright said no as they KNOW it'll never sell enough units to justify the cost of tooling up, let alone labour costs and shipping costs.

However, if they can do them cheap enough, count me in :D

They have 21 people committed at 600 usd a pop in the VFR800 Tyga thread. Where do you come up with this idea that everyone will back out? Did you start a thread about reproducing a VFR750 exhaust system and we all backed out at the last minute? I must have missed it.

Hi stryker.

I'd really, really like it to be a twin silencer setup, and EU road legal.

The latter doesn't seem to be the case of the Tyga exhausts for the NC30/35 or the now defunct 2Bros system.

As you said doesn't seem to be any roadlegal silencers at Tyga, what a about a db-killer?

You can always get them to make your own custom made silencer "we can make custom size silencer tubes"

Ok, that is probaly just the tubes for silencers, sorry!

I tried this, as soon as people heard the price (I'm talking specifically VFR750 owners here) the interest dropped right off. But hopefully it'll work out.

Tell them to forget the silencers, just make sure the outlet is 2" and you have an endless choice of cans to choose from.

This ^^^^^^ is the right answer. Then see if they'll make just the header for 3rd gens (high mount, left side for most, I'd think). Then we can choose whatever muffler we want that is legal for where we live.

Might make it more affordable for us cheapskates normal income people, too.

Cheers,

Glenn

I'd be interested in a low mount set up for my '95 (I use my center stand) at the $600+/- price point, but not being familiar with Tyga, just a couple of questions. What are the header pipes made out of? Will they be of equivalent quality (e.g., wall thickness) of the OEMs? Have the donor pipes been dyno'ed vs. OEMs to make any performance gains worthwhile? Just askin'.
