  1. I ran one summer with a 16 on the front! Made a diff in pickup I could tell based on racing the kid...but anyway, It worked nice, a few hundred more revs on highway didnt bother anything, but it ate my chain up way to fast! No more of that, will go up on rear next time I care.
  2. I read vfrbennys post a long while back about the 1984 vf1000 bars...finally tried it! :) Hey! I have no issues at all with the stock bars..I do a couple 1200 mile days every summer and never find it a problem as I lay on the tank with my chunk of foam inside my jacket! I think they are perfect for solo! But! I also use this bike 2 up occasionally as I tried, but I just hate driving a cruiser! Not even trying any more as wife comfy on the vfr anyway! Ok for her but for me it sucks then as I cant lay down and leave the wife sticking up there, so I try to sit up far as I can and that dont work for long! I usually run the stock bars up at the top of the tubes, but thats high as they go...:) So I tried this and they work great! Just enough up and back to let me sit up as far as i want to with some forward lean still to keep the butt from going numb! Dirt Cheap and just as good as the helibars I tried on another bike!...Everything fit fine, I just had to route the throttle cables inside the right fork, now lots of slack. not enough before. Drill some new pin holes for the switchblocks. I did cut the ends off the bars and drill and tap them to put the big weight ends back on! I lined up the gap in the bars with the gap in the top clamp and they fit me and the bike perfect! I will give them a shot of silver paint next time they are off when I go solo trip and they are done! I would take a good look at any clipons the right diameter from the old days, might be lots out there. so just some pics if interested! Thanks for the idea VFR Benny!!!

  5. Seriously? I doubt I could stich together 12 guys for a "homecoming" - well Colorado is home to me! If it was up to me it would be more like a moving caravan, stay one night in Montrose, the Next in Durango. Perhaps its better to base out of a centeral Location such as Gunnison, or Salida? Destinations like the Million Dollar Highway, Monarch Pass, Black Canyon, Rocky Mountain National Park? You basically cant go wrong anywhere in the mountains. Very nice, man what a beautiful state. I feel like a seasoned traveler. When my wife and I visited colorado we went to all the places you listed except salida. great reminder of a cool road! last time i was there we did the loop back thru the E tunnel and around the pass twice!! was a blast!! Still havnt found a state on the bike that can compare to Colorado! just so much "UP " and its everywhere!! Next yr..:) " thanks!
