  1. Thanks I'll take a look and see what I find... a little off shade is ok. Will look better then the bare scraped aluminum look I'm rocking now ;)
  2. Anyone know the paint code for the 6th gen engine? More so the clutch cover. Mine is a little rashed up and I planning on sending it to Seb at some point for window install. But would like to try and clean it up a little until then.
  3. Been there seen it, and will come back to see it again.
  4. I think the spring just gets weak a can't push as hard as need be.... Swapped mine today, and feeling new with old and that's what it seemed like to me.. And I think its just the top one that was causing noise... It seemed to be extended almost fully, and the lower rear doesn't seem to be out that much at all. So that might go along with the weak spring deal on the one..
  5. We have one at work as well, and like everyone else has said. They are great for mocking up parts before sending them to the CNC, but that's about it.
  6. thanks Slammer for the feature, and the positive comments guys...That was late Friday afternoon, we came over the skyway in the back side of the dragon, traffic was zero so and slammed it to the store

  8. Ive been looking around trying to figure out a new shock, as my OEM has 85,000+kms on it and I'm sure its close to needing a rebuild or replacement. Problem is I almost think I need two shocks.... :( One for everyday riding and one to swap in when the wife and I go touring. And no I'm not calling my wife fat, with gear I'm sure she barely breaks 135lbs. Normally I run the preload up around 75% of max, for my everyday riding. Install all 3 bags and loaded up for a 3 or 4 day trip and have the wife jump on, I've gone from a daily load of 200lbs to almost double. Even with the preload at max, the front end is light and when it gets dark the head lights blind the guys up on the ISS.... The wife and I have been toying with the idea of me riding the bike out west sometime in the summer of 2014 and she'll fly to Calgary. Then spending a few weeks touring Banff in to BC. So current setup isn't going to cut it. Is it posable to just swap out to a heavier spring when needed or is it just simpler have a second shock? I've been toying with the idea of getting a Uni-go trailer, but that's $3000 for something I may only use once or twice a year.
  9. My god, this tread is still alive? I've got 86,000km on my 07... I've used everything from Mobile 1 to Castrol and now using Motul because I found a place and it's cheaper than everything else. We ride VFRs, I bet you could put used frier grease from McDonalds in them and they would still go forever :)
  10. Hey I have an 07 that looks just like that one :)
  11. I'm putting a new set of BT23s on at Wheelers next week... Because thats what works for me.. Tires are like underwear, lots to pick from, and when you find a pair you like, you tend to stick to that brand.
  12. I've done that as a way to stretch on a long slab ride. I've also sat on the passenger seat keeping my feet on the driver pegs. Easy trick when you're 6foot4. But Sargent seat helped me a lot and I've done the Buel peg swap which lowered my feet a little extra. As I too suffer from knee issues, too much downhill skiing as a teenager, so my knees snap and crack like a campfire when I walk somedays. Just get off the bike every hour or so, even if it's just for 5mins. Do a quick little walk around the bike to help the blood flow and you'll be good to go again. If you wait utill you start to feel stiff it's too late and you'll fight it all day.
