  2. Welcome to the VFR/RC51 Club! ...or is it VTR? RVT? SP-1? SP-2? Anyway, sporting Honda v-twin, good match to the v-four. Let us know how the higher clip-ons work out, looking into that myself.

  3. Very cool Rob, SP1 or SP2? Friend of mine just had his stolen, was in a store at the mall less than 15 minutes-figures somebody targeted him because he just got done doing a nice refresh to it.

  4. Not only went to America, but also to a town called Ysselsteyn. for one, i live in a town called IJsselstein, it is also an area where they grow the White Gold No, that is not a variety of White Widow... White Gold is what we call..... Stopped at a bike shop for a coffee and a "sit" on the other bike I considered.. Nah.... glad I bought the VTR1000-SP2 Today, Sunday, an historic day with general elections in France. Although our species have a habit of forgetting one's history..... Ysselsteyn is also known for a place where one can see what the result is from voting in a populist leader who promises to make the country great again and identify "them" as scapegoats... In comparison, Margraten, our largest WW2 cemetery for American forces, holds 8,302 servicemen.. A high price was paid for their folly (not that they had much of a choice not to go to the front). And what do we do, we vote for populists "en masse"; in the NL we see the same with Wilders voted the 2nd largest party... Education and compassion is what will make us truly "great", not rhetoric... And for Skuuter: "Frietje America"

  5. Congrats from a fellow VTR rider! Stick to this forum, the RC51 one cannot stand it its shadow by a mile or 50...

  7. Thanks Lorne, it's a 2001 SP1 actual odometer reading. IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL REAR TIRE FROM 2001! Front is brand new, 0 miles, but 10 years old! (yes, I'm getting new tires)

  8. Congratulations on finding such a tidy VTR, Rob. It looks fantastic as is, but I can see it has an awesome future in store. SP1 or SP2? I've read good arguments in favour of each. A Brit mag recently called them under appreciated classics that will only rise in value. Terrific choice of wheels, btw. This Sport Rider article might give a few more ideas, though you've no doubt done massive research already: http://www.sportrider.com/honda-rc51-rvt1000r-great-sportbikes-past

  9. Racing is dangerous, saw the superstock 1000 crash right in front of me. Reminiscent of the Simoncelli incident, seeing how anothet bike rides right over a body is something you donot wish to see. Packed up and left as seeing the medics franticly working for a looong time and ambulances arriving took me back to Lithuania... :-( Once home read that Fritz is concious and injuries appear to be "ok"...
