Member Contributer manoil Posted February 15, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted February 15, 2018 Looking to upgrade rear suspension and been on the bay checking for CBR shocks. Found a supposed near new (removed from new bike?) CBR600 shock with code as in title was thinking it was worth a pop and then found a plce which will do the Ohlins stx 46 for just over £300. I know Ohlins are the big banana but will their entry end shock be better than the "near new" CBR 600 shock at £125, will probably go for a set of upgraded springs and new oil at front as well. Has anyone tried the Ohlins STX46?
Member Contributer JZH Posted February 17, 2018 Member Contributer Share Posted February 17, 2018 Saw that ad. Looks a bit odd. I know there are Ohlins service centres, particularly in France and Italy, that make up shocks out of individual Ohlins parts (Ohlins usually discontinues shocks for older bikes after several--maybe ten--years), but that's very cheap even for a mono-tube Ohlins. I can't say its dodgy, but I think you're taking a risk. Ask them a bunch of questions and see if they can answer them... Ciao,
Member Contributer manoil Posted February 17, 2018 Author Member Contributer Share Posted February 17, 2018 Yeah thought it looked cheap but they seem to be a legit trading co, was wondering if it was a mistake and thought about buying one before it was pulled. Is the CBR shock better than an ABS vtec shock?
