No Fork Seal Protectors?

The 2014 standard VFR 800 does not have any shields for the fork seals.  I just added the wrap-around neoprene sleeve protectors.  Kind of hard to believe Honda did not provide the ubiquitous plastic shields that protect the 3 inches of exposed fork tube just above the seals? At any rate, I was helping my neighbor change the oil in his 2008 VFR and noticed his bike has the plastic fork seal protectors.  Really annoyed Honda would eliminate such a useful and inexpensive part on the 'premium' VFR? It's like asking for problems.....

If it makes you feel any better, AFAIK the deluxe version doesn't come with them either...  (either that or they were missing from mine when I got it used...)

I added a pair of Triumph fork protectors, IIRC, these are the ones (not home right now to double check the exact part number, but I THINK these are it)

Had to trim a little off the top, they were just a tad too tall...

Katie - A good idea but a bit Nora Batty for me...

You just want to have to explain that to our across-the-pond brethren, don't you?

A picture speaks a thousand words...

and explains nothing!

My mate has a 3D printer, and when showing me how it worked he came across this already made model for VFR protectors on the site he uses, he was keen to make something so why not these.....work a treat. :)

I don't proclaim to know much about 3D printers , but according to him they only cost a few cents in materials...so if you know anyone with a 3D printer, be their friend...ha ha ha  :)

Man, that makes no sense at all!  Why would they be cheaper here in the US??!!

Maybe try contacting Bike Bandit and asking if and how much they would charge to ship to you?

Should fit in a small padded envelope...  ?

I'm gonna try the Triumph protectors (part A9641010), updating here when (if) it works.

They were pretty useless because they hit the upper cooler. The protector needs to be closer to the forks by at least 10mm. Too bad because the clamp part is very good.

I trimmed about 1/2" or so (I can't find the pieces right now to measure exactly how much) off the tops so they would clear the upper cooler...

How can that clear when the forks compress?
