Will 1991 Front Wheel fit 2002?

BocaVFR

Question

Hi Everyone!

This is my first question/participation on VFRD. I have really enjoyed much of the content, humor and insightful tips.

I ask this question as I could not find the answer anywhere here. If it's been covered please forgive the redundancy. I know the rears have been covered to death.

I have a 2002 VFR800 stock. I just bought these wheels from a 1991 VFR750. (Scoured the planet for them!)  I know the rear wheel is a simple bolt on swap. However, will the front wheel fit as a simple bolt on swap or will modification be needed. Thanks in advance for your help!

Not a direct bolt-on.  The solid discs aren't very attractive, either...

Well.. it takes a 20 mm diameter axle. That's about it unfortunately.

The stock discs won't line up with the calipers. You could always shim the caliper mounts...

Just get your 6G front wheel painted to match and sell the '91 front wheel for scrap metal.
