hellindustries
Ahoy again. Recently went full-metal on the foot pegs and now looking to complete the 'look' with a proper metal-only gear select pedal. Anyone know of one which will fit? I know i could just take the rubber off the stock pedal, but that'd look ass.
Member Contributer auggius Posted July 17, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted July 17, 2017 I don't know of any but can you remove the shift tip independently of the shaft? If so, then get a new CNC tip made. But it would be hell on your boot which is why it's a rubber tip.
hellindustries
The whole thing is one cast part. I could chop it and put a threaded hole in it. It's a possibility.
Member Contributer auggius Posted July 17, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted July 17, 2017 Well apparently Emgo makes a shift lever with a metal tip. Here's an example that is a replacement for a CBR600: https://fortnine.ca/en/emgo-folding-shift-lever-83-10110. Maybe it would fit???

It's a possibility. A few years ago I crashed and the track and sheared off the tip of the shifter. I ground down what was left, and bought a generic, knurled tip from the parts guy. Screwed it on the original shifter and it was good to go. I can post a picture if you'd like!
hellindustries
Do! Even if i don't do it, i'd still like to see your solution.
number9
Here you go! The knurled tip is a generic one that I literally bought at a racetrack after I low-sided my bike. Filed off what was left of the stock tip, ground it down a little, and drilled a hole in it for this sucker.
