SumSum 4 Scouting Trip

CVVFR and I are currently on the road, on the hunt for the next SumSum location.

We just arrived in Custer, SD after 3 long days of travel.

Other than a torrential downpour just outside of Sheridan WY, it's been a hot and great ride.

Lolo pass was the best ever, with very little traffic, perfect weather and only one spectator (deer) off the road side.

We'll be riding and checking things out in this area for a few days then off to scout a few more locations in Colorado and Utah.

Hoping everyone is doing well, healthy and getting some miles on the bikes.

Just arrived back in Montrose, CO - for a sociable visit with out pre-sponsor Phil at the Horesefly.

Ran into some interesting weather and man did it suck leaving Denver on the 285.  Nothing but 40-45 mph with cops out in full force, and then some.

Major road construction on the way in, making a run on the Black Canyon a probable no go.

Besides, tomorrow is a laundry day-off.

Had some issues with the bike not starting, most likely due to the power commander settings and high altitude.

Friendly folks everywhere and got a push start from the propane guy & CVVFR.

Checking out alternative locations in Colorado and Utah over the coming days.

If anyone should happen to be in the Montrose area, we're staying at the Days Inn (Red Arrow was full) and will be staggering between here & Horsefly Brewing.

Pretty hot up there about now-but still cooler than down here. Almost 4 weeks of close to 100 degrees. Wherever you pick Tony, I'm sure it'll be great.

Just got back myself from a tour of the area up to Canadian border/Glacier to include the Black Hills etc.  I ran the Lolo Pass on the way back. No crowds!  No sure what you are exactly scouting for?

Lolo Pass a few years back!  Great VFR road!

450 miles today, passing through Natural Bridges National Monument for some incredible sites.

Then, up around Lake Powel and over to Richfield.  WTF, the gas station only offers Bud, Bud Lite & Shock Top!!!

Where's the craft in that :-(.

All good riding so far, very little rain on us but plenty in the hills to the left & right.

Looking forward to checking out Bonneville Salt Flats tomorrow.

We stopped in Richfield just 2 weeks ago for gas on our way home from the MotoAmerica races in Tooele.

Arrived in Wendover around 2:30 after setting a new (fully loaded) speed record at Bonneville Salt Flats.  135 mph

While here, received a civic emergency announcement of an oil fire in Elko County. Osino has been evacuated - where we were heading tomorrow to head N.

A quick reroute to get us up to Caldwell ID as we work our way back home in the coming week.

Crossed the state line for some IPA then ran it back over to Utah.  Kind of felt like Smokey / Bandit running beer across state line.

Plenty of fires burning back home in BC, and really hoping everyone is safe out there.
